The LAST thing you need it a tread separation at 100 MPH!

Right on! I wouldn't feel comfortable at highway speeds, especially etended trips. For that matter, I wouldn't feel comfortable with my usual, enthusiastic around-town driving. Hard cornering with a nail in my sidewall? >.<

Not sure if this applies to you or not... I had my Michelin Sport Pilots 275-35-ZR-19 on the car. Came out one day and noticed the tire was low... I checked the tread and sure enough there was a small screw head sticking out.

Pissed off, I drove to a high end tire shop to have the hole patched from the inside. About 2 weeks later I now have to bulges on my sidewalls. They are pretty big and a serious concern for driving.

I called every tire guy from one end of the city to the next. No one will step up to give me a credit. They all say I hit a pot hole, or I let the tire deflate which cut the inner wall. I can assure you neither has happened. I never hit pot holes and the tire was never ran flat. Needless to say, the hole in your tire may be the beginning of a greater problem.

Let me know if you find a cheap tire source...
