If your planning on throwing ALOT of money into performance mods then go with the the A4. If you want a better car STOCK as far as performance and apperance then go with the coupe. Audi's real are nice as long as you have some doe to put into them. I would go with the coupe, without a question.

I like both cars. Since I have a g, I like the g better. The audi is also a great car but I heard so many bad things about audi. I guess its just prefference.

Given that same option, I chose the G35 coupe and am happy I did. The Audi is a very nice vehicle, but I love the G.

I'd compare the A4 with the Lexus IS250 if you're asking. We chose the IS250 and we glad that we did. the IS250 handled great, quick, and has a nice body style.

But if it's between the A4 and G35C, of course the G will be chosen. If you plan to drop some $$ into the A4, why don't u use it for the G and make it even more better?

From personal experience, we had a tough time choosing between the 330Ci and the G35C, I choose the G35C. And between the A4 and IS250, we choosed the IS250. And we're VERY VERY happy with our decision. The G35C is great for stock performance and handling. It also has the exotic look and sound to it. The IS250 is very sleek looking and sporty handling. Both have awsome interior. Though I love the IS250 Interior and misc features a lot more. We test out all 4 models, lots of time and came up with the conlusion.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the purchase.

Indeed, I would choose an the A4 for sure (especially if it is the new body styling) agianst the IS250.. notice also that the guy is going to throw in money to mod the car; while a 1.8 T / 2.0 T is very VERY mod firendly....
when compared to the IS250..

Yet, when compared between the G coupe and the A4, I would probably choose the G stock for stock; but if you are going for a highly modded car, dun go for the G...the A4 will be much cheaper..

Modding an A4 is by no means cheap but here is my take from my B5 A4 experience. Even guys that run K04 turbo upgrade from the 225HP TT have issues with boost leaks as well as boost surge or uneven TQ band due to software issues that aren't fully shorted out with that turbo. The stock K03 turbo's are already near the maximum efficiency range, running a chip will run it past efficiency range, but will still produce a nice power boost (still no where near G35 level of acceleration). Running a chip will also increase the chances of blowing a K03 (common problem) and boost leak has to be kept in check which happens quite frequently. The N-75 valve and also the stock 710A Diverter valves are ****ty. You'll need to upgrade those. Guys that go to a high boost GT28RS (I think thats what its called) don't run into many problems, but that turbo upgrade cost an arm/leg. Even then they are running roughly mid 13's (some are quicker), which is where a well driven G35 coupe would run with full bolt-ons.

I drive an Audi A4 1.8T quattro, and i have a MTM chip and upgraded the DV (forge). And i always have to check for boost leak. I will be looking at a G35C this weekend.

Two friends of mine have A4's (one is 98 1.8T and the other is an 02 3.0) and they aren't bad cars. I have driven both of them and the A4's have more interior room, but stock for stock, the G is better. The 98 has had a lot of problems, but the 02 hasn't yet. The 98 has a turbo upgrade, chipped, exhaust, front mount and it still doesn't really feel that fast to me. My turbo'd integra felt a lot faster.

If I had the choice, I would get the G (not biased since I own one) because better performance out of the box, handling, it is a coupe, and has better body lines. It really depends on what you are looking for out of the car, RWD vs. AWD, room inside, if you plan on hauling people around, trunk space, and the list could go on. I would just take each out and see which one you feel most comfortable with.

Good luck on your decision.
