Removing door guards

Heat it up with a hair dryer, use some fishing line, goo gone.

Anyone else do anything different? I removed stuff before, but mostyl emblems and little stuff. Want to make sure I dont screw anything up.

Thanks in advance.

That's pretty much how I did it except for the hair dryer.

I put the goo gone along the top of the guard and let it soak down for a few minutes. Then I used the fishing line. I did it in five inch segments.

Three coats of wax later, you can't tell that it was there.

Next week I'll do the passenger side.

Thanks for the hints, appreciate it. I hadnt thought about putting the goo gone on and letting it soak down in a bit. Good call.

Does anyone know if you will be able to tell that the moldings were there on an 04 twilight blue g35 coupe purchased in late 2003? I am worried the rest of the paint has faded.
