F! it finally happened....

well it finally happened
rear bumper got hit by a hit and run last night....
anyone have any reasonable options for me? i wish it was the front so i could get a nice aftermarket bumper, no rear bumper really interests me except maybe the impul--but thats a $butt load$.
i doubt this is something that could ever get pushed out, let alone that the bumper looks cracked (see the 3 vertical cracks near the top right corner)
dont have much money to spend at all....
thanks i just needed to vent, or if anybody has any good suggestions.

Sorry to hear man. Those cracks look like they are in the paint, not in the bumper. But it's not like that matters, since that probably can't be pushed out. You should check to see if the bumper support brace is damaged. That might cost a lot more money than the rear bumper.

But if you need a rear bumper, I have one which seems to be "local" pickup. PM if you're interested.

yeah, but my deductible is $500....
and it shouldnt be that much more than that. and if it is, my rates might go up--they're high enough as it is.

do you guys really think its fixable?

I dont think your rates will go up because of a hit and run.

But you're right about the 500 dollar deductible. I'm not sure if this would go under collisiion or comprehensive, but you should consider changing your comprehensive to 100 dollars if you havent already. the differnce is so minimal

But the next insurance company may look at your history and see that you are a potential liability and offer you a higher insurance rate from the start.

again, my deductible is 500...so they wouldnt be paying out that much even if that did work......
anyone think i should try and take the bumper off and pop it out after heating with a hair dryer. or save it for a shop???
i dont mind trying myself-but i dont wanna mess it up further for a shop if i cant do it myself

F, sorry man. What is it with these cars anyway? Are the bumpers magnetic or what? Seems like everyone gets hit!
