So im pretty damm pissed.

Ok....
SO i went over to my boyfriends house today. I get to his house and his little brother and OBNOXIOUS friends are playing outside. Which made me hesitate before parking in the driveway. I did any way because i saw the babysitter out there watching and i thought shed be courtious enough to say something to them if they got near it while playing. So an hour or so later were leaving to eat and when i walked outside the ****ING kids are climbing ON MY car. YEAHHH climbing as if it were a playground or something????
And the baby sitter is sitting watching as all of this happend. I didnt wanna scream at them because they are eight years old. and i knew a bunch of bad words were about to come out of my mouth so all i said was can you please ask them to not do that ??? and he did. So we come back from dinner and i see paper and pens and **** on the hood of my car ... like it was a table this time ??? ... i screamed at my boyfriend cus they werent out there any more telling him to SCREAM at his little brother.
and heres why im mad. Despite the foot prints from there DIRTY little SHOES ... there are 3 new scratches on my hood and near the sunroof.

I dont understand what has happend to kids these days. when i was that age i would have never thought of climbing on someones car. EVEN getting near a car that nice. They have no respect for anything. Now i have to pay to get my car touched up
my poooor baby.

Here is a simple to solve the problem. Go take your car to a body shop, get an estimate for the damages and then send the bill to the parents or babysitter. That way someone might actually need to take responsibility for their kid’s actions. My son accidentally opened the door on our explorer and hit a new Mercedes putting a small door ding in it. It was an accident but I made him wait until the owner came back then apologized to her. She was so taken back that someone would wait to inform her of the accident that she said not to worry about it and thanked him for apologizing.

^^^^^^ +++++++++++++1 DO NOT LET THEM WALK ON YOU! I'm with you, I would NEVER have thought to do that!

I can laugh now, but I screamed at the time...

I came home from work one day to find my 3 yr old daughter using my wife's car (83 Pontiac Parisienne) for a trampoline! She had caved in the roof (4dr), hood, and trunk. I spent the next couple of hours beating it (the car guys) out.

Pick one of the kids and beat him in front of the others. They cannot be so stupid as to not get that message.

LOL^

Seriously though, get an estimate, then talk to the babysitter how he/she is at fault since she was looking over the kids.

If the damage is considerable (say over $500), you may have to take legal action.

You could just complain to your boyfriend. Have him get the money from his parents for the damages, causing that babysitter to get fired, and the kids getting a new one that is super strict. Then you win against everyone involved.

First off, you should have trusted your female intuition and not parked there, lol. But the damage is done, sorry to hear about that.

If those kids weren't being supervised and they messed up your ride, there's really not a whole lot you could do.

However, the fact that they were under the authority of the baby sitter changes the whole situation COMPLETELY. She is responsible for their actions, she is being paid to make sure they don't do anything stupid. Quite frankly, she failed.

Do what the others have suggested, get an estimate and show it to your BF's parents and the sitter and see how it goes from there. Personally, I wouldn't really care too much about being re-imbursed...I'd do it more for the principle of the whole matter and to make sure the sitter gets what she deserves.

sorry to hear that i encounter those situations all the time. i have nephews, nieces, etc and i just park as far as possible from where they're playing, even on the other side of the street if need be. but what's done is done, i agree with most people here..get an estimate and if its more than 500 go from there.

I feel your pain

After having my 05 coupe for about 2 months my upstairs neighbor (2 family house but we have rights to the driveway) let his 5 year old son ride his bike down the driveway between our 2 cars (one being the new G35) and the handbrake on the kids bike dented and scraped a line down the edge of my fender just over the wheel. They never owned up to it and probably hoped I would never notice. I know it was the kid because the neon green paint streak matched the neon hand brake. I never said anything but I make sure that the tires on that kids bike stay FLAT.
