I am sure it is a phase, just dont be too hasty and do anything impulsive. The G is a sweet lookin ride that performs well and can be modded nicely. Go ahead and make it FI. That should put a smile on your face everytime you drive it.

There is an expression "Familiarity Breeds Contempt". All things no matter how exciting become mundane after time. It's part of life..... a big part.

I understand your point of being happy with what you have. But when I'm not sure if I'm happy with what I have, and I can afford to change, then why not consider it, you know? Thank you for your opinion though, honestly.

Too much TIME.. dude, time is something I have practically none of, 70+ hour work weeks leave little room for anything. And marriage? Ugh.. No thanks bro, I'm way too young and tryin' to get my career and life started.

As for all the other comments:

I really appreciate everyones views, this was the main reason for me venting here. I knew that I would get a mix of opinions, but true from the heart. Though I may not agree with all, I Thank you guys. I still don't know which route I'm going to end up taking, but we'll see... I'm sure there are more opinions out there that will help steer me one way or the other.

That's just the way it is. You get used to what you have and then you start regretting it when you don't have it. Unless of course if you replaced it with something better, and I say if you can, then go for it! Ask me if I would pick a G35 and mod it like crazy or go buy an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, I'd pick the Vantage in a heartbeat.

But as of this point, this is the best car that I can realistically own but fortunately not much out there compares to it.

Man. That V8 Vantage is HOT!!! That's one of the very few cars out there that has sexier lines than the G.

swatson....to be honest, i know you love speed. what you are craving you will never be able to get from the G. the G should be your daily driver and you should save a little bit of dough and buy something super tight that you can slowly but surely make into a monster. i also know that you love your G and you have done a good job so far with it. this is the type of car that is going to last forever.

One of the best things going for the G?

StreetDeck! Customized for G35's...

www.streetdeck.com

This stuff is cool and completely makes up for the lack of cool gizmos compared to BMWs, Acura, etc... You will be completely engrossed when not busy in traffic!

Put that together with some turbos and the G is a livin' breathin' wet dream!

Base C6 and never look back.

I dont get it when people say the stock G35 has enough power for them.. I can barely feel it accelerating in any gear above 3rd.. and even 3rd is barely noticable.

Anyways.. with a C6 you can enjoy the extra 150 ft-lbs for awhile and when you get bored.. Heads and cams from AI for $2000 will put you at about ~480 whp.

Straight line speed is only one aspect...let's not forget about the G in the twisties!! How about trying some auto-x, or a driver's ed event? Something to remind you of how much fun this car is in the bends.

I've had mine since Jan 05 and I'm already getting tired of it. I see too many people with them now Considering trading mine in for another color maybe.

Man I have been there many times. I started off with a Athens Blue 2004 and I loved it so much I ordered a BS 2005. I was in heaven for awile then I sat in a 2005 TL A spec. All those gizmo's, feeling like I was on the vegas strip everytime I got in her. I kept the 05 G and just picked up the TL. I modded up the TL because the "hollywood" effect of it wore off quick. I had some luck run past my way and grabbed up a 2nd 05 coupe ( previous write off stolen and stripped ) for cheap so I had 2 g's for a while. Then in October of last year I traded 1 of the G's in on a Lexus IS350, and once again I was in heaven. Less than 2 months after picking up the Lex I did a complete stereo/video system, wheels, got it lowered, tinted but I realized it just wasn't doing it for me. Last week I ordered my fourth G35 (IP 2006). Basically what I am saying is there were many times I thought the G was not the car for me ,either because of lack of gizmo's or power, but in the end I did some soul searching and realized it was the car for me, just some days nothing will satisfy you no matter what you have.

I get a kick out of the "my G35 is slow" crowd. I had a G35 sedan since 03 and just traded it in for a 06 G35 coupe. I looked at a lot of other cars. More luxury but slower like the Lexus GS300.

I remember thinking I probably shouldn't get another G35 because it's too fast and I might get in trouble with the law but a lot of you think they are slow.

Just wondering how fast would you like it to be?

Best way to fall back in love with your G:

Drive a 97 Grand Prix all winter. Nothing's as beautiful as that first drive in my G in the spring after driving that boat
