Might have solved my gas problem

Prior to bringing my coupe in for the gas tank recall I was only getting about 220mi per tank. I've been riding my car still on the first tank of gas since the service was done and I'm just below 1/2 a tank with 210miles. Just wanted to know did anyone else experience this. Could my mpg have increased due to the tsb work done or is the gauge faulty( had to bring back to dealer after first time they did it b/c gauge wouldn't work after 1st time) Could this be a reason why some g's complain of bad gas milage. At this rate I'll prob break 300mi on a tank.

what year is your coupe?i got an 05 and im only getting 10 mpg =200-210 to the tank, do the 05's have a recall for that?

common sense would tell me though, that gettin the recal done only means that ur car is now telling u the actual gas that u have left and if it wasnt working properly it would show u that u tank is almost empty wen its really not and u go fill up? (jus a thought) but i fill up mine 18-19 gallons everytime and still get 10 mpg

Chances are they screwed up your guage sending unit or something....see other posts on this board regarding gas filling issues, etc. It is unlikely that the gas tank recall would improve your gas mileage. How would that be possible? However, with a faulty gas guage reading , you might run out of gas, be careful!!

I have the 05 and I get about 300 miles on 16 gallons. So, about the average of 18-19 miles per gallon and that's about 30 % highway and 70 % city.

iN MY '05 i USUALLY FILL UP WITH 18 GALLONS AFTER ABOUT +/-320 MILES. i DRIVE A GOOD MIX OF CONSERVATIVE VS. AGGRESSIVE, BUT MOSTLY HIGHWAY TO WORK @ 80MPH.

MY '04 GOT ABOUT 19-20 PER GALLON.

NOT SURE ABOUT MY '06. THE WIFE DRIVES IT.

Yes.... and I saw pigs flying yesterday.

You must be driving your G downhill all the time in neutral.
That must be a world's record (at least a forum record).
I haven't read of anyone achieving that kind of mileage.
Congratulations to you.

It can be done, but usually not on a consistent basis. I made it to 500 miles (~29 MPG) before filling up one time driving from Fredericksburg, VA to Myrtle Beach, SC. The drive is 100% highway miles on almost completely flat roads, and I was watching the navi gas gauge to optimize the mileage.

I've never been able to replicate that performance since. You really must have ideal conditions for it to work.

lol... ya me too! I get about 500 -600 miles per tank. I drive really slow, and sometimes have to do the Fred Flintstone thing to get the car going.

I've done it not so Mr Wonderful! How is it that 24-28 mpg is impossible for you to fathom? With breathing mods and highway driving I can go from Philly to Raleigh without stopping. Thats 405 miles and I can still tool around when I get there. I guess pigs are flying. The earth is round too even if you can't witness it yourself.

Lighter wheels, Borla Exahust.. k & N filter gave me bout 3 mpg more

Remember 05 went to 19" wheels it take more power to turn a taller tire...

I guess there are pigs flying all over the place now!!
