how far is this bastard of a place??? lol...couldnt find the last one...only took me 1.5 hours 2 get there and half hour 2 get home....lol....how far u guys think from giuants stadium??? or from the gwb???

Also, I've been to one "Gsquad" event (Glex25's memorial day bbq) how do I know it's been counted towards my membership?

The address should be on thegsquad.org - our site and you were on the list from glex25 so vance aka nycg35 should have you down for 1 of 3 meets needed for membership.

Its the Northern State to the Sunken Meadow Pkwy...the Sunken Meadow Pkwy leads right into the park ...there is a toll


OK heres my issue with the poll...Some people voting on the poll have never attended a Squad event where we've had food..or a squad event at all fo rthat matter...and wouldnt know the difference on the $5 thing or bringin food...so how do we get an accurate response in which to make a decision from?

maybe we should move the poll into the MO forum or do it via email to members?....so it can be more accurate

 

i think in regards to the poll and the food issue bbqing may be better because pizza might be hard im somewhat familiar with the sunken meadow area and i dont think there are ne pizza places in the vicinty, and the pizza would probobly get cold by the time it gets to us. i think for a meet like this it might be eaiser to delegate something for everyone to bring plus bbq tastes better :-)

 

if theres no caravan to the spot we can meet up and go together..i know where this park is...let me know whats up

 

There will be a couple of caravans meeting up along the way, don't worry about that AT ALL!

As far as the Pizzas go, i live in Huntington and can get the pies there before the top pizza gets below 100 degrees.

By the look of the characters voting on OUR poll, it appears that the BBQ is winning out, so pizza isn't a concern for me anyway.

Whats up guys, I'm one of Balzac's friends and was there at the last meet when it rained.

Anyhow Sunken Meadow State Park is on the North Shore of Long Island in Suffolk County approx. 45 minutes drive EAST of Queens NY.

Take the Long Island Expressway or the Northern State Parkway or the Southern State Parkway eastbound until you get to an exit for the Sagtikos Parkway North...just follow it to the end and that will put you in the park.

There is a fee to get into the park of $8.00 unless your car has a NY State Empire Passport.

It's a HUGE park with lots of room to do alot of stuff and I'm surprised that no one mentioned that there is a pretty nice beach to go swimming if the weather is nice enough.


ETA: I'll be there, but not in an Infinity. Trying to start up my own club too - The Fit is Go!!!

 

ill be there as i said but im gonna have to leave around 230 cause its one of my girls 21st bday and shes having a huge bbq so im gonna have to split the day between the squad and the lady lol
