Beat the **** out of mazda cars aug 26 & 27

Even though this is not G related, i thought it would be cool to get a few of us together & have some fun...possibly a mini meet or somethin?

They are doing this again this year, and it is fun.

Mazda's Zoom Zoom Live event is coming to some major cities over the next few weekends. Anyone over 18 with a valid drivers' license can get into a Mazda car and race it against the clock and against other drivers. They set up several tracks, some built to test how smoothly you drive, and some built for speed.

Some tips we learned from last year's event:
Registering online (https://www.zoomzoomlive.com) is recommended (but not required) before showing up in-person.
It does not matter what time you register to attend. Whether you specify 10am, 12noon, or 3pm, just show up at any time during that day. If you keep your creditentials from the first day, you can show up the second day and race fast cars again.
We recommend arriving in the morning hours, between 8am and 9am. The crowds will be lighter in the morning, meaning shorter lines on the courses. In the afternoon it could be an hour wait for each course.
Some of the cars could be worn down or broken by the second day, so we recommend doing the first day.
We highly recommend doing the training course first, before any other course. The training course lets you ride with an instructor to tutor you about race driving. The courses may be spread out, so we recommend asking someone where the training course is. After you do the training, you will likely do much better on the race courses, and ultimately have more fun.
Manual transmission cars may have shorter lines than automatic. You probably will not do much shifting anyway, probably just between first and second gear.
The race courses are designed so you cannot obtain too much speed (probably 20-40 MPH max on the solo courses and 50 MPH on the training course), but you can screech some tires around corners.
They will have all kinds of cars available for racing, including sports cars, 4-door sedans, and maybe a minivan course.

Washington DC area on Aug 12-13
Boston on Aug 19-20
New York (northern NJ) on Aug 26-27
Miami on Sep 9-10

Dallas on Sep 23-24
