Unhappy Well...my rear end slipped out and I crashed

Hey guys, sorry didn't make it out to Hot Import Night last weekend, but I got in an accident after I fishtailed. I will post pics soon after I go to the body shop. I have to say that I thank God I was in my Infinity when this happened, I slammed into the concrete divider, my air bags went off and I got out with a couple of scratches on my wrists from the air bag deploying in my steering wheel. Hope to get it fixed soon and see you guys. Be well.

Thanks guys, I'm ok, only had a headache the next day which I think was from the whiplash and weird smelling dust from the airbag. Yep, VDC was off and as I was taking the turn onto the Queensboro bridge upper roadway, I accelerated too hard coming out of the turn and the wheels just slipped out, no chance to recover. My friggin car has an open differential which I wanted to change. I think they only switched the differential to limited slip in 2004. I just hope that the collision shop does a good job of repairing the front end and that the insurance company doesn't try to screw me with aftermarket parts.

sorry to hear about your slip BUT glad you are ok. tell me this, are our cars THAT bad/hard to drive with VDC off? this is my 1st car with it so im STILL getting used to how the car reacts/does NOT react with it on. i DONT like it EXCEPT the ability to driver harder than normal and have the car "save me" but it ALSO gives me a feeling of NOT being in control....

Quite a few members have seriously damaged their cars with VDC OFF. There has always been an ongoing debate about being a good driver and not needing vdc, knowing your car, and all that other crap. I prefer to play it safe and drive with VDC ON because this car is totally unpredictable with it off. Just my .02

Unhappy

Well, the insurance called and it looks like it may be a total. This really really sucks. It's like having a family member pass away. I will keep you guys posted and post pics hopefully over the weekend if I have time. The VDC off and the fact that I had an open differential I think helped contribute to the total loss of control. Any additional advice or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank guys for your posts and support. In my opinion now, I recommend to all new G owners to leave the VDC on and only turn it off if you want to peel out in a straight line with nothing/no-one around you. Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July.
