Re: Possible Gun Range Meet in PA???
OK ....NYC G35 has the run down
Name: Sunset Gun Hill Range
Description: Outdoor Roofed in range. with bowling pin and other targets including paper targets...right now closest shot is 25 yards(there are further targets also)...due to renovation
[b]Here's the scoop on the range. They have only 6 lanes open right now...and are under major renovation...that will be done at the end of the month.
They would be willing to work a group rate after the first time we go and they see how much we shoot, then based on that the next time we'd come in they'd work it.
RATES and rules:
If you bring your own weapons its a $15 charge ($10 for lane fee & one time $5 safty instruction fee...then every other time its $10 for the lane if you bring your own gun)
IF YOU ARE RENTING Guns:
You must have ID then they will give you a "TAB" on that tab will be the amount of CLIPS you shoot out of each weapon.
examples of pricing quoted from them..to give you all an idea:
$5 for 7 shots 9mm
$6 for 8 shots M-16
$4 for 10 shots .22 cal
THEY also have clay shooting which is 25 shots for $15 dollars.
No lane fee if you are renting guns
<font color=blue>MY OPINION:</font color=blue>
Good: no lane fee, far targets for rifle shots, not tied to one type of weapon for the whole day
NOT SO GOOD: very little amount of shots for the money they are asking. Unless you are a very very good shooter with a handgun 25 yards is not that much fun (as most gun fights are between 7 and 10 yards...but thats besides the point)
Box of 9mm rounds is like $10 and you get 50 shots
they want 1/2 that money for only 7 shots....but you can switch up at any time.
Distance: its about a good 1.5 hr drive on route 80....that includes 2 tolls to get out the city.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS....
MY VOTE: WE see what everyone wants to do, or if we have better pricing options and at least wait until they finish construction....because 6 lanes for the busy weekends he told me they have wont be enough for all of us plus their regular customers ...OK there its is...
I'll make a new thread and post this also so everyone sees it.
