I walked out my house this morning to go to work and saw a 18 wheeler truck parked about 8 inches away in front of my G. I thought to myself "No way he backed up that close without hitting me". So upon closer inspection, my G was hit in the front by his truck. There's a straight cut/indentation/scrape matching his exact rear steel sharp bumper.

I approached the cab of the truck and knocked on the door. No one was there. I felt myself being carried, dragged. I looked and this huge redneck trucker guy was dragging me by my arm to the back of the truck for lord knows what purpose. I knew there was no sense in me fighting him because I was no physical match for him. I yelled at him to get his hands off me. He did. I showed him the damage to my car. He got quiet. He told me he grabbed me up because he assumed I was trying to steal from his truck.

I never climbed into his cab. Both my feet were firmly planted on the street (before the giant lifted me away). I didnt attempt to open the truck door or anything. I just knocked on the door.

Anyway, I called 911 and stated I wanted to file an accident report and also to file assault charges. Officers said I cant file assault charges because there were no visible bruises or marks on me. However, the guys story matched mine. They asked the truck driver if he put his hands on me and he said "Yes I put my hands on him and walked him to the back of the truck".

No man has any right to put there hands on another man. Am I right? Being that he admitted to it does make it an assault does it not?

They also asked the driver if he hit my car, to which he replied "Yeah, I dunno, I may have".

The officers asked me if I saw his truck hit my car to which I said "Yes, I saw it from my window across the street."

So we made an accident report and harrassment report. The officers told me the paperwork will be ready for me to pick up on Wednesday.

Nooch, I know you work in a law office so I thought maybe you could comment/suggest on what I did and/or what I should do next?

Blitz, I hear you have a better understanding of insurance than I do. So my question to you is..My car was parked and I was not inside and the engine was off. I said I saw his truck hit my car from my house window. Whose insurance will pay? Will mine go up? I have Geico.

Anyone else with any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

From my understanding your insurance will prob no go up since the car was parked in the street. But im sure blitz can better answer that.

also PM Balzac about the assault thing, its a small thing though man....dont beef about that...I would have reacted the same way...if someone is uncomfortably close to something of yours you'd react the same way....as long as he didnt hit you or something...just get your car fixed though....

I dont think your insurance will go up from your car being parked and he is in motion....he hit an inanimate object.

Just let Blitz and Balzac know you are Squad or you may get ignored...

 

Damnnnn hate truckersss...well basically..my suggestion is get ur paperwork from the poe poe and if the trucker is a meatball go through his insurance....I doubt u need to go through any legal procedures....its time consuming and unnecesary....as long as ur car gets fixed with no out of pokcet cost to u then that's all that matters.....As for the assault....get his name and address and we can go to his house lol....jk (or am I?) lol....na speak to balzac....but I think u should just let it slide....Leme know how it goes....and lemme know when u get that address lol [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

I think this goes under the Comprehensive section of your insurance which is a "no-fault" claim and your insurance should not go up. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
If you need a good bodyshop... I would recommend the place that fixed my car. Looks as good as new... Mike, Lou, Neil, Dan all got service from the same bodyshop. His price are very reasonable. Shoot me a PM if you need a number...

Either he needs to pay out of his pocket (after removing his container of chewin' tabacca') or he needs to file it with his insurance company. Typically, I think your insurance company will lay it out and try to get the $$ from his company. Your premium shouldn't go up since you are not making a claim against your policy. Blitz will know more, but I know his last line will be........"You get what you pay for"....He doesn't like Geico too much! Anyway, depending on how bad it is, I would try to get the whole car repainted using non-Infiniti paint!!! It would remove that lil area where you were keyed as well!

I think the front bumper needs to be replaced entirely because the indentation left by his bumper is a very sharp straight line indentation. I dont think it can be worked out but then again what do I know...

Babiephat, PM me that bodyshop info. I may go with them. I live in Brooklyn though so it would be crazy to get out there and leave my car and get back and whatever.

Diesel, Why non-infiniti paint? Wouldnt Infiniti try to void my warranty saying that they suspect I got into a serious accident or something? It is a great idea if I could get the key scratch and the front bumper done of his trucking company's insurance.

Oh yeah and to add to the bad luck, I got keyed again yesterday...RoooooooooooooooooooooaRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! !
Its on my drivers door but it looks like alot of compund and buffing will help hide it completely. Its not deep down.

Before you fix anything, figure out who the hell is keying your G!!!! Who did you **** off man? I just say non-INfiniti paint if you get the whole car repainted b/c their paint sux! I don't know what brand they use, but it's horrible! If the are only repainting the front, then you're stuck with what they use (I assume only the same brand will match correctly?). Anyway, the Infiniti paint chips too easily!

 

omg justice u better sleep ontop of ur G or next to it - or borrow neils window mounted camcorder or his bullet cams and find out who is keyin ur baby...find out and im sure u can count on atleast 5 or 6 of us to come down and help stomp some people out!!
