yeah, it's meant as a rearview camera. you can get a good camera for $150. the av electronics box ($400 i think) has a rearview cam input that will automatically switch the navi to it when you go into reverse.

Yeah I have the AV Electronics installed already the camera looks like a nice add on. I never saw that camera before it's perfect.

 

Is there a way to make it so that you see backwards when NOT in reverse? I just think it'll be a cool feature to see what's going on behind you when you're "driving" and not just parking...

 

i have the pioneer NDBC1 rearview camera.

with the AV electronic tuner, you hook up the camera to AV3 input, and then when you go into Reverse, it switches to AV3 automatically.

to use the camera while driving, i just have to select AV3 with the remote.

it's definitely a nice camera, well made and it seems pretty durable. i got mine through a Buy It Now on eBay for $175. MSRP is like $250.

the camera just needs to be hooked up to power and it has an RCA plug for video.
