Need legal advice badly
Im cruising east on the southern state with the flow of traffic when I hear my radar detector go off, as I slow down I see a cop pulling out of the bushes...but by this time Im at least a half a mile away. The cop didnt have the flasking lights he was just pulling out of the bushes. I didnt want to take a chance and so I exited and made a quick right turn. All I know is as Im making the right turn the cop is right behind me with the flashing lights and telling me to pull over. He then proceeds to yell at me for trying to run from the State Police officer and he can have me arrested and my car impounded. This whole time I was just wondering if it was me he was pulling over or somebody else, but then he tell me he got me on laser going 86 in a 55 mph.
He kept asking me why I ran from him and if IM hiding anything in the car. I told him I got off because my navi told me to do it, which he didnt buy.
He gave me a ticket for speeding going 86 in a 55 mph with laser.
my question is he didnt even tag me at all and finally pulled me over about 2 miles after my detector went off. I think he pulled me over by mistake and I want to fight it.
do you think its a good case or what??
this fawking blows....I hate five O

First off fahgetabout the running bs, if he had a case then he would of done the arrest thingy on the spot. He was just standing on a soap box with that crap and probably trying to put the fear of god in ya.
It's gonna be the 31 mph over the limit that's gonna give you the biggest prob. I would suggest to hook up with Greg to get the skinny on what you will be able to do or can't do to try and wiggle out of this one.
Shoulda waited till you hit Suffolk county, then you would of been in his territtory.
Good luk with this one dude.

lou i feel for you man..... i got nabbed on the belt last week riding my bike w/o insurance. Big Big problems i mean Huge, suspension is inevitable even with a lawyer and fine of like 700 pesos. So dood i feel ur pain. Dont beat yourself up too much for it, u'll get through it.
Check the not guilty box on the summons and request an information. It is another box on the form. In Nassau County it akes approximately 1 year to get a trial date. On that date they will always plea bargain with you. Certainly not going to be as many points at least. It will be worth your while.
Good Luck!

well first of... HOW FAST Were you going ?
Never ever... do anything like that like try and exit. Its always a red flag. Just coast rather then exit. Cops always look at your tail lights to see if you hit the brakes. Tells em you slowing down from speeding.
Being pulled over a number of times myself.... in my previous car. I have more cop stories then you can imagine. with a few being speeding.
HERE is what you do:
-dont worry about what happen with him yelling at you. Thats BS. Not admisable in court.
- plead not guilty and wait for trial date. like someone said its gonna take a long time. If i'm not mistaken you probably got pulled over near hempstead area...and will be going to heampstead court of Franklyn ave.on cooper st.
- when you get there just talk to DA. you screwed either way .. considering you have other tickets. Basically plead down to a lesser charge. bieng 31mph over. YOu looking at point either way. 2-4 is my guess instead of 6-8.
- normaly they will check your record. for prior violations. if they see you got some around the same time...they can give you a shaft. BUt dont worry just keep talking to DA and ask if there is anything he can do.
Word of advise.. you need to learn to talk to cops better when you do get pulled over. Based on your other thread... you mouthed of to them and its a big no no. Face it...they have the badge ... you dont. So lick some *** and make you nose extra brown cause thats the only way you can reduce your chances of getting a ticket or even have a cop write down lesser charge.
- using words like Yes sir ...no Sir is not only expected but demanded. Make the cop feel at ease. take your keys out and put them on your Roof. Puppy dog eyes could be helpful.
Take it from me.. i had a prelude that was a magnet for cops. I use to get stopped even while walking next to my car.( YES I"M dead serious... i got stoped while walking next to my car..
) so the nice you try to be the nicer the'll respond. Bite your lip, it will save you some money.
Better yet .. dont speed.
(sorry couldnt resist)

Poor Lou!!!
Lying to a cop just makes the situation worse... I always tell the cop the truth and most of the time he will let me go or give me a reduced ticket on the spot. They were trained to have an "us vs. them" mentality, so you have to earn their trust..
As for advice, it seems like pleading not guilty and asking for a plea bargain is your best bet. How is your past history on tickets?

Thanks for the input guys,
Ill be putting in my not-quilty plea real soon.
I've always had a bad relationship with cops, not authority. I feel that cops know who they **** with and will do so accordingly. To make a long story short, I was arrested overnight with a couple of friends. The charge was one of my friend had a joint in his pocket and the cops accused all of us, quilty by association. As Im sitting in the back of this van handcuffed and thinking how ****ing stupid this situation is a radio call comes in. Evidently there was a suspicious shooting at Queensbridge projects....you know the one that NAS and Mobb deep sing about all the time. The two fat cops were telling themselves "Im not going there...**** that...get shot at for no reason" and continued talking about where is a goood place to eat. These fat disgusting pieces of whale sheet at to pusssssy to go after the real bad guys but is willing to bring in four innocent guys for a joint one of them was carrying.
I had my benz at the time and I had to leave it by the cross Island parkway and the stupid female cop was yelling at me were the key is. I told her the remote is the key and she still had no clue and then the other fukciing cop starts telling me nice car I myself drive a Bentley.
dude Ive had my share but remember about 99% of all cops are fukcing pusssies and just want to go home and be able to sleep in the safety of their bed. Absolutely none of them will survive in the same jail they lock the people up in but they get this power trip cause they have a gun.
P.S. all thoughts and claims have no reflect on G35driver or G. squad and are not liable for any lawsuits.
still venting
