The box is available empty! Subs and amp, as well as the 8" Bazooka have been SOLD!
After winning the dual 10" sub enclosure at the Aug 13th G-Squad PA meet, I decided to set it up in my G in place of the single Basslink I had been running for the past 2 years. My initial reaction to the enclosure was "do I really want this huge box in my trunk?", but I decided to lay it all out anyways and set it up. After a few minutes wiring, I had it pumping away and the bass it produced was deep and rich. Even though the Basslink was rated at the same power as the Kicker KX series amp that I had pushing the two 10" (200 watts) their was a significant increase in sound, not to mention bass. It was tighter and hit much harder. I was truly impressed, but at the same time hated it for its beastly size, and obnoxious weight, so it had to go.
Now that I had a taste of what the dual 10's sounded like, there was no way in hell I wanted to go back to the Basslink, so I opted to order one of 4080's custom single 10" enclosures. After reading many rave reviews, and actually hearing one in person with a sweet JL Audio, I was sold!
It occupies pretty much "dead space" in the trunk, little in that as well, weight isn't much of factor, and is built pretty tough. The 10" sub I decided to go with, is a Reference series MB Quart 2ohm DVC, which I'm going to run in series to get a single 4ohm's. The amp that will power it is also made by MB Quart and is rated at 800 watts into 4ohm's when bridged into a single channel. A little over kill for the sub, which is rated at half that wattage, but I'll just control all that juice with the amps gain to keep the sub running cool. Having that extra power will also come in handy if I ever want to throw in a more powerful sub.
Sooo, I placed an order for everything today, should have it all in by the end of this week or early next week, and as soon as I get around to installing it all, I'll post some pics and a brief review how it all worked out, compares to what I was running and my 2 cents....

Nice one John welcome to the dark side hehe
Did you order it plain or with the Infiniti Grille?
Let me know if you need any info even though this forum is over run with info on the 4080 box and compatible speaker and amp configurations

Thanks G...
I got it with the standard grill, plain one, not with the Infiniti logo. Hearing your system first hand made me a believer sometimes less is more (in terms of your typical dual sub setups that take up half the trunk). There's no doub't those crazy trunk size system will rattle the filling out of your teeth and you can't match their SPL levels, but I'm not into that, and once again we fall back to the weight issue. I went with 20's to help balance out my cars low body clearance, but gained some lbs in doing so, which you can feel in the cars "pick up and go". I don't like the extra weight, but the form factor (in that they helped raise my car a bit and filled in the wheel wells nicely "eye candy") was my reasoning in getting them. When it comes to a subwoofer setup in a G, the last thing I want to do is take up 50% or more of my trunk space. I'm confident a properly setup single 10" with a solid power supply will perform like a champ, and if I may so use your system as an example - it does just that.
Installation should be a snap, being that my car is pre-wired and ready to go. All I'll have to do is install everything into its place, wire it up, and crank the volume.... If I do have any question, I'll hit ya up with a PM... Thanks!

Very well put Glex, we have lost John to the darkside..... will he ever be the same
Good choice on the 4080 box. Get nothing but compliments on the quality of the box as well as sound from the JL sub.
Just one thing of note (and this may only be me personally) but the bass may be TOO overbearing. When that happens you'll wanna upgrade your components to get more out of them so its like a never-ending thing. I ended up getting the Infinity Kappas shortly thereafter. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads-up... I'm actually considering upgrading the fronts as well, but don't know what I want or how I want to go about it. I know what you mean by the never ending thing. Audio work has always been that way for me, and why I have opted to keep it out of my G till now...
Let's see how 4080's box performs and then I'll look into upgrading the rest....

Hey guys, here's some pics and info on the clear subwoofer I have up for sale...
The enclosure measures 30" wide, 16" deep, and 15" high...

I'm sure it won't fit into a G, but it was actually once in a 95 M3, so I think its safe to say it'll work in many other cars, as well as most any SUV...
The subs are Cerwin Vega XL-12S's and can handle each 250 watts (4ohm). They're a few years old, but are in perfect, like new condition! The box is a bandpass design, with dual ports per sub, which allows it to produce huge amounts of low bass. I had a 400watt amp hooked up to it, with 200watts per sub, and it was CRAZY loud!
The box is in good condition, with only some minor surface scratches and spidering "acrylic peel" which is just cosmetic and will not effect its performance.
It's offered for sale at $250. Local pick up, due to its size and weight is prefered, but if you want it shipped, I'll pcakage it up and the buyer will pay actual shipping charges....
