I dont know if everyone knows or not but this might help...
Those that wants to get it registered, can do so by contacting a registered importer.
According to DOT/NHTSA, R33 between the year 1996 - 1998 can be imported, since dual airbags were standard during these years.

scroll down and youll see the federal register publication
read up and let me know if I missed something, I might have to tell the wifey to bring me one from japan...
