2004.5 Infiniti G35 coupe, JWT Twin Turbo kit, 42,600 miles
I built this car from the ground up with the goal of getting incredible performance while maintaining the stock luxury feel and drivability. I take my wife and daughter for a ride one day, and then head to Motorsport Ranch and pass corvettes and Porches the next. Other than rims, I have not changed anything on the exterior of the car, making it the ultimate sleeper, or a blank canvas if you wish to perform exterior mods. This is how I went about building the car.
I bought the car in November of 2007 from a BMW dealer where it’s only owner had traded it in. It had around 37,000 miles on it. This was a 2004.5 (with the wideband OEM O2 sensors) with the 6MT transmission and sports package ( Brembo brakes, and 18” rims). I choose to go twin turbo because I wanted to avoid the extra lag that comes with a single turbo kit and I wanted the extra torque over a superchager kit. I specifically picked the JWT kit because it maintains the smooth stock smooth power delivery, and has practically no lag. It’s small turbos spool up super quick, giving you over 300 ft lbs of torque at the wheels at ~2000 rpm!
After installing the twin turbo twin intercooler kit, including re-circulated wastegate and blowoff valve to maintain the sleeper feel, I noticed it was running a bit lean, so I took it to T1 motorsports where, working with Jim Wolf, we installed Power Enterprise 380cc injectors and retuned the air/fuel maps, as well as installed a fuel pressure gauge and pressure tested the fmu and inspected the walbro fuel pump. I went with a Southbend DxD clutch kit ( popular and proven in the 300 z TT and now supra communities) and an OEM flywheel. Why not a lightened flywheel? Because lightweight flywheels chatter a lot more than stock on these cars, and adversely affect the drivability.
A while later I installed a Motordyne Iso thermal 5/16” spacer and resonated test pipes. As this increased my airflow quite a bit, I went in for a re-tune by Chris Macellaro and installed 1 step colder NGK plugs. I stressed my desire for a reliable and conservative tune, rather than a all out max power possible tune. To date I have taken the car to the road racing track at MSR 4 times, with a gt500 and a bmw 135i overheating and going into limp mode, while my car had 0 issues and the temp gauge did not budge a millimeter!
The stock reliability I have experienced in this car is doe to the great tune, running on the waste gate pressure of 6 psi, and keeping the stock block. I had thought of building the block and going for huge power, but I currently have more than I know how to fully use and after a lot of research on g35driver and my350z.com I found that almost everyone who got a built block experienced a bunch of issues and always working on the car while waiting for the next problem to pop up. some felt it was all worth it, but I just wanted maximum reliability and minimal hassle. I have 360 wheel horse power on a low reading dyno at 6 psi, and zero issues with the car. However, the stock block has been known to handle up to 400 whp safely but I opted not to get a boost controller and go that far as I’m more than happy with the current amazing power and response and stock like reliability.
On the suspension side I went with the Bilstien PSS9 height adjustable and rebound adjustable coilovers. These provide great performance at the track, while still offering a comfortable ride around town. At first they were a bit bouncy over bumpy roads, but after fine tuning the rebound, the car is solid going over bumps and amazing at the track and on the twisties. My wife complained about my old 240sx, but rides the G with no issues! I replaced the stock sway bars with Hotchkiss adjustable sway bars (version2, with the welded collars) connected using the beefier 05+ endlinks in the back, and adjustable powergrid endlinks up front. I also added a Topspeed mid chassis brace to increase stiffness for hard cornering. I got the car corner balanced and then performance aligned at Cobb Tunning. The results are amazing; the car handles like a whole new beast now.
I upgraded the rotors to stoptech slotted rotors all around and the OEM Brembo calipers squeeze down using Axxis ultimate brake pads. Combined with stainless steel brake and clutch lines and ATE Super Blue brake fluid, I have worry free and fade free braking for all circumstances.
In keeping with the sleeper feel I stayed on the stock rims as long as possible, but the power was too much. I upgraded to the lightweight Enkei rpf1’s with 9.5” up front and 10.5" in the back, with the fenders rolled for extra safety against rubbing. Sticky Toyo T1R’s complete the equation and give me all the grip and traction I need.
This is the ultimate sleeper, with amazing power, and only a trained eye will notice the dual intercoolers peeking out from behind the bumper mesh. Keeping the stock exhaust other than the resonated test pipes keeps the noise level almost like stock, with it being louder only when you really get on the gas. My boost gauge lies in the storage cubby at the top of the center stack. Open it and the gauge is in easy view, close it and the interior is all stock
I have used Mobil 1 0w40 since going Turbo as Used Oil analysis findings on My350z.com show it to be great for forced induction VQ engines. This past week I just switched to Rotella T Synthetic as it has shown even greater wear protection.
You will also get the stock 18" rims with tires, spare rim, all mats plus additional trunk mat, stock parts, UpRev Osiris cipher tool and software, 2 keys, wallet key, User Manuals and first aid kit.
My asking price is $22,499 or best offer. Feel free to contact me for a test drive if you are local. Once you feel the stock drivability of the car, then mash the gas and find yourself glued to the back of the seat, you’ll be hooked!
I will entertain best offers, so don't be shy, if I feel it is a low ball offer I will simply say no.

this price is not set in stone. Also, there are those that would prefer a stock block at this power level over a built one, due to reliability concerns. There are two very long threads about stock versus built blocks on my350z if you would like to research for yourself.
If you would like to make a lower offer, please go ahead

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Holy fvck, that is one well done and thought out rebuild!! Don't know you personally, but you get a free bump today from a fellow Texas brother. Wish I was in the market, you do have the ultimate sleeper. And it has room for MORE power, dayuuuum!
Thanks everyone for the comments!
For the DFW G peeps, y'all found me
Here is why I am trying to sell the car. Brief history on me is I am a car addict, I went through 9 cars in 4 years and this one I've owned the longest out of any before. I love the car and was not even thinking of selling it ever, it had finally cured my addiction when all of a sudden I found a really good deal on a Porsche Twin Turbo. I looked at my savings account, and didn't have enough to get it so I said ok, I'll sell the G and get the porsche TT, and hastily put this add and a craigslist add up.
A few days later and I realize that it would be kinda stupid to buy the porsche TT at this point, what with paying two houses off an all, lol but the for sale add is up, so I'll see if I can get a good offer for the car, if not I'll gladly keep it for the next several years.

Definitely keep it if you can, your G35 is definitely one of my favorites after going along for a ride at one of the meets. VERY well-built car and runs like a champ. GLWS if it someone comes through, but honestly, i hope you keep it!
