Located in northern Massachusetts

2006 Infiniti G35x AWD sedan. Black w/grey leather. Premium model, with Bose stereo/ navigation. Ice cold A/C. Approx 172,000 miles. Clean title. Brand new Continental DWS tires less than 500 miles.

Car has some mechanical issues, so being sold as a parts car, or for repair. Vehicle suffered front driveshaft failure at highway speed. Driveshaft will need to be replaced, and front differential seems to be leaking. Unsure if that also needs to be replaced. Trans bellhousing was also damaged, but doesn't seem to affect operation. Car can be driven around driveway, but much be towed due to front driveshaft still being in car and not connected. Can provide photos of damage if desired

Other issues:
Engine burns oil (1 qt per 1500 miles), and has slight tap if not started for 3-4 days until warmed up. Wasn't an issue as I was daily driving the car.
Small dent on driver's front fender
front lower control arm inner bushings need replacement
pass side front window needs to be retimed (rolls down on it's own when using Auto-up)
TPMS light on due to dead sensors in wheels
Small exhaust leak.

Rather than fix, I bought a new car. Car as being sold as a parts car, or with the understanding that it needs repairs prior to being driveable.

Sad to see it go for this low... It just came to me, though, if you have full coverage (insurance), can you claim it as a total loss? Maybe you can get more back? Just a thought.

 

I checked with my agent (personal friend of mine) and can't make a claim because it wasn't a collision. Mechanical failure doesn't qualify.


I'm just letting it go low because I bought another car, and don't have the time/energy to fix it up. I'm just so busy lately that I'd rather do other things in my rare free time.
