First Oil Change??

Hey all, I'm just wondering when the average owner went in for their first oil change. I have an 06 mt and I just passed the 1k mile mark with all the proper break-in procedures. Should I flush out now and start with some mobil 1? What kind of oils and filters do you guys use? I'm used to mobil 1 for oil and bosch for my filters. Any suggestions/tips? Thanks....

Go run it hard(to redline) a few times, if you havent yet, before the change to make sure the rings are set.
Also check to see how much oil came out due to some problem in the past about oil consumption.

Thanks for replies fellas. ^ Is that myth really legit? It does make sense to me, but why does it not apply for "finer" german engineering such as, say bmw's? It's unholy to take it past 4k rpms during their break-in periods, a la
E46 m3's. In my 1k of driving, I've been driving a mixture of normal to semi-hard, topping out my rpms at ~5k. Although in my previous RSX-S, I was practically redlining it on the way home from the dealer.....

+1 on that. ran mine to 6500 when I hit the first on ramp! nice and easy, then I let it decelerate on its own to 3000. did this a couple of times to get a good seal of the rings. Changed oil at 1000m then at 3000 to mobile 1.

Thats the way break-in should be. This is why most Honda motors last long is a greater condtion. Who can wait until 2k miles to hit Vtec. But this is just my myth. WHen I bought my 3series in '04 , they sales guy said to drive it hard and dont worry about granny-ing it.

Well, I guess it really wouldn't hurt to take it up a grand or so more to 6.5k, for the sake of my engine of course But what I was inquiring more about was the mileage of first oil change....I guess about 1000-1500 seems to be the norm, and then synthetic every 5000 miles or so?? Appreciate the feedback...
