Hi,

My dealer is offering a 3M clear bra material + installation for $495. It covers
- the front bumper completely,
- the side view mirrors
- half of the front quarter panels over the wheels
- only ~12'' of the hood, starting from the front tip.


Would 12'' provide enough protection?
How much of your hood is covered?
Is this price good?

The hood usually only goes up about halfway on most kits. If you look at the splash pattern from mud and bugs, its usually the leading edge that gets most of the splatter so you should be reasonably safe.

 

That's the best price I've ever seen from a dealer!!!

Thanks for the replies. Just to give an idea of how much 12'' is on the hood, it does not go all the way up to the top of the headlights. It goes about halfway.

Is that how much your clear bra covers?

 

My 3M goes to mid hood not 12". I have one piece (no cuts) on the mirrors, the front bumper, and it's wrapped around the lower hood edge. It was the same price as your dealer quote.

My 3m is 9.5 " in the centre of hood and about 4.25" from the hood side edges. Seems to work fine.

 

It's encouraging to read that 12'' on the hood should provide plenty of protection.
