Rear Deck Brake Light

Hey guys i need some help/Advice. I have an 05 6MT thats about to turn 1 year old. I love my car but looking at the rear deck brake light is killing me. I had my spoiler added on by the dealer (waiting for Laser Red took a long time). The dealer disconnected the light but it is still there. Im talking about the brake light that is inside the car by the rear speakers. Has anyone removed this light? Is it hard to do? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

It's SIMPLE to remove, simply push it slightly towards the rear of the car, then lift up. Its the holes that are used to secure it to the rear deck between the two speakers that are a pain to deal with. I have read of a few people on here getting some cloth from a fabric store that matches their interior, then using 3M spray adhesive to stick it down covering up the holes.

I'm in the same position you are, however I dont think its bothering me to the point that I will remove it. I have it disconnected, and after having my windows tinted, you cant even tell its there from the outside.

Good luck on what you decide to do though!

Thanks for the input Jellysick. The holes were something i was worried about as well. I was searching the forum to see if anyone else had done this and i did read one person talk about the holes. I know its not the end of the world to leave it but i would like to remove it. Ill let you know what i decide. Thanks again.

If I could find a quick and easy solution to the holes, I would take mine out as well. It's not something I want to spend very much time messing with though.

Let me know what you end up doing, hope you find something that works!

Another option is to order the rear deck w/o braked light slots from the dealer and replace it yourself. Might cost a bit but you'll get the OE look.

I removed the third brake light, bought some carpet, and recovered the rear deck.
