Re: How do you think of your G?

So now I guess I'll ask- In every genre of car, there is the top of the heap. For argument's sake, let's take out the ultimates like the Enzo, SLR, and Veyron. What car is top of the heap for the type of car that you see your G to be? Another way to say it I guess would be, if you had unlimited funds and were buying a car to take the exact role for the G, what car would you have in the driveway?

For me the next car that would take the role of the G would be the Mercedes CL55. Fast, supremely comfortable, and with the sexy coupe profile just like my G35 coupe.

Re: How do you think of your G?

I think of my G35C as a sophisticated GT/Sporty Coupe. I don't think of it as a sports car at all, although it does have some inconveniences of a sports car such as a pathetic trunk and rear seat headroom issues.

I consider my Z06 a sports car, and when you drive the two, you can tell why.

That's easy. To me, the ultimate GT/Sports Coupe is the Aston Martin Vanquish.

Re: How do you think of your G?

With all due respect, and considering that I don't own one; however, I can (and do) see it as a Grand Touring car. For our market (American) its one HELL of a GT car. What other decent options would you have? Trust me, very few with the price/options & badge available.

Its got the looks, and has the 'juice' to back it up.
A Sports Car?? maybe.
A Stop Light Racer: please no. That's deameaning.
A Pocket Rocket: once again, no. That belongs to the Lotus crowd (Elise 190 soon...yummy!)
A Luxury vehicle: absolutely on top of entry & mid Jag's. Mercedez luxo?..maybe not.
Fast & Furious-type: thank god NO!

In other words: a VERY well rounded overall & all around vehicle.

I prefer the term "Means of Conveyance"...just kidding.

Actually I'm gonna stick with what my insurance company calls it (since I get a better rate than my buddy with a 350Z) Luxury Coupe. And I'd throw the word 'Sport' in there.

I agree with MrElussive....he hit it on the nose with the word "RAW".....amazing that with as much comfort and at the level of coupe luxury we have.....when it's time to walk on em...it's "RAW" and you can hear and feel the "G" just explode. Now if we could just tame Mr Rev. Limiter.

I look at my Coupe as a husky, fat, sexy, masculine car with some hints of luxury and prestige at a bargain price.

I see it as a cheaper alternative to an m3 roughly 25k less.

Re: How do you think of your G?

I guess I should pitch in. I'm with Z06 myself- I see the car as a true GT- with the weight and wheelbase, you're not going to turn some tight twisty cowpath in the Italian Alps into a straight line, but make the roads like the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada or the Number One in California, and now you're in for a serious loss of adrenaline. Double the number of cylinders and throw an order of magnitude at the price, and you have the Vanquish. We can't all be 007 and get one for free, but I'll bet our rides spend more time on the road and less time in the shop, too. )
Thanks all for sharing your views. And for being true enthusiasts (well okay, maybe fanatics, but the G is hard not to get excited about!)
