How do you think of your G?

How do you think of your G?
I must be getting old. I see what I figure is an excess of posts ref 0-60 times. That may be because of how I see my G. On the flip side, I used to think guys with hopped up civics were bush-league, but now, in reflecting, and seeing the wide variety of posts here on the forum, I've come to realize whether you can afford a ford or a ferrari, you can still be an enthusiast, and that in itself is cool. After all, that's what this forum, and tons like it are about. So it's all good.
Enough pre-amble- here's my q:
How do you see your G? What do I mean? Cars are labelled in many different ways:
Hot hatch, pocket rocket, sports coupe, GT (grand touring), boulevard cruiser, stoplight drag-racer, muscle-car...
I'm really curious as to the "why's" as well, otherwise I'd ask the moderators to set up a poll.
No wrong answers here, so please refrain from flaming someone else's post.
TIA

I see the G Coupe in the same light as the MR2 (Now Extinct) or RX-7 (Also Extinct). A notch below the Japanese Super Cars(The ones in America at least) ie: Supras, NSX's and 3000 GT's. The G is a car that is not Super Fast, but can handle it's own if provoked. So, I guess I would consider it a Sports Car. This car is a beauty and one of a kind.

Good Q. I see my G as a sleek and beutiful luxury/sports car that can kick *** anytime anywhere concerning both performance and looks. Long live the G! To all the peasants in the street. Bow down to the awesomeness of the G!!!
......sorry I think I got a little carried away.

I see my G35C as a luxury sports coupe (with a big emphasis on sport). I see this car in the same exact category as a BMW 330Ci. It meets my demands as a luxury coupe and as a sports car, and for people who care, this car is a real head-turner.
Overall, this car obviously has some quirks, but I have never been so damn enthusiastic about a car before...it is an absolute pleasure each and every time I go for a drive in this car.

G35 coupe is definitely a GT (grand touring) car, although the word "sport" wouldn't be out of place either.
However, to me a true sports car is a front engine, rear drive, top down car with a manual transmission. Anything from an older AC Cobra to a Mazda Miata defines a true sports car.
Muscle cars are V8 Mustangs, Camaros etc.... Corvettes don't really fit into the musclecar category or the sports car category, unless you're talking about the convertible Vette.
All in all, I guess I see the G35 coupe as a sporty GT car with a fair amount of luxury thrown in. There aren't many cars can be honestly considered sport/GT/luxury all at once.

I agree with Mr. Elusive and Hitman as I consider the G35C a GT luxury coupe - very good blend of handling, acceleration/braking, and amenities.
I have to respectively disagree with Hitman on his notion of only the 'vette convertible being a sports car. I think of the 'vette vert as being the least sporty (but a pure roadster) of the available 'vettes because of the added weight and sheer number of auto 'vette verts compared to 6-speeds, but that's my personal opinion. I also believe that if pure performance is what you're after, there is no better bargain and few better all out sports cars available than the Z06 Corvette.

JPJ,
The only reason I said that only the convertible Vette could be considered a true sports car is because all true sports car are ragtops. I agree that the non-convertibles are the higher performing cars due to lower weight.
But in my book, a true sports car always has to be a ragtop.

Wow all these guys have really good points on how they see their G's.. I think i agree with everyone here. I dont think it is super fast or anything,
but i see it as a great white shark...not the most deadliest thing in the ocean, but when hungry this thing will eat a boxster or a 330ci.

Re: How do you think of your G?
I definatelly see it as a GT car. But with a lot of sports car potential after about 10-15 grand worth of mods including TT/SC, coilovers, inatke, exhaust, ecu and so on. So yea stock this car is definatelly not the fastest one on the road, but it can eat up quite a bunch of other cars that are more expensive that it while looking damn sexy and providing decent luxury amenities.

Re: How do you think of your G?
I don't understand why people say this car isn't super quick. I know the G35C isn't meant to be a red-light racer, but when I am doing my normal point A to point B commute, I rarely spot a car that will beat my car's 0-60 time. And whenever I rip it up, this car feels really fast and really raw. It doesn't have big V8 torque, but I think it feels absolutely amazing to wind up the engine.

Re: How do you think of your G?
I have the sedan and it's everything I wanted. I've had a 95 Mustang GT Conv. since I was 17 (24 now) and a GSXR 750 bike. I'm not really looking for a super fast car as nothing could give me the speed thrills my bike can with a 0-60 in under 2.5 seconds.
I wanted a nice comfortable trip car that looked classy and a bit luxurious but with enough speed to have some fun and pass cars easily. I couldn't be happier.

I see my ride as smooth, sexy, and lethal.
She's eye candy, comfortable, and can look after herself. Gives me goosebumps just driving it.
I treat her right, and she's real nice to me.
