I unlocked my car with my key fob and the map lights came on. I opened the door and the driver's side maplight turns on then off again but the passenger side remains on. I click the driver's side and nothing happens so I am thinking the bulb went out. The whole time the passenger one is on. I switch it to "door" and the driver's side turns on again, flickers a bit then stays on.

What could possibly be wrong with my map light?

I did mess with some electrical stuff but I haven't touched the map lights.

 

Bulb is loose??
It's easy to open up and take a look.

 

Yea the bulb or could be a faulty door switch. If the bulb's good, just take it back to the dealer at your next oil service.

 

Yeah that's what I figured. I will check the bulb later.

Sounds strange, but I wouldn't know anything about it cause I always leave mine in OFF position. What electrical stuff did you mess with?

 

I hardwired a V1 w concealed display. I have a Pioneer AVIC D1, Amp, Speakers, Rearview Camera w/ switch, Daytime running lights with switch, Shock sensor added to OEM alarm.
