Simple install. Like it was said up above, it takes like 2 minutes, 3 if your not mechanically inclined. Just open the door pop out the round black screw cover, take out the screw and you can just pop the old cover off with a flat head screw driver. Snap the new cover on and replace everything. Piece of cake. I too just went to my local dealership and bought the passenger side cover.

Later,

Ray

Or, you can just replace it without even removing the screw. You can get to the clip on the handle side by just pulling out on the handle. Then, a small flat screwdriver or a sharp probe tool will do the trick. Less than one minute. Did it this weekend.

If it's such an easy install, wouldn't it be just as easy for someone to pop off the key cover and break into our cars?

It's just a plastic cover. There's still a lock under it with a keyhole that would need to be defeated.

But I heard that people can lower our windows by sticking in a screwdriver in the keyhole causing a short, hence this is why people are getting the keyhole cover. So they can still pop off the cover to gain access to the keyhole right?

Some actually remove the locking mechanism, to prevent just that sort of break-in.

Mine is just used as a cover to clean things up, visually. Fully-funtioning lock mechanism is still in place.
