Exclamation Brake Warranty is a JOKE

Ok so I'm all about the 36,000 mile free brake warranty on the 04 Coupes. At around 33,000 miles, I started to hear this squeel like a scraping in my rim. It concerned me, but then I realized that it was just the sensor going off telling me I needed new brakes. NO problem cuz I'm covered. I took it in and the Infiniti dealer promptly did my brakes for free. --->

So here I am at 44,000 miles on my coupe, and I start to hear the scraping noise again. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I got 10,000 miles on my brakes? Is this a rip off? Did Infiniti give me some cheap brakes just to get me by so that it'll just barely get me past the warranty milage? ----->

Anyone else have any experiences like this?

forgive me for being ignorant to what our warranties cover, but does the 40K / 6year bumper to bumper factory warranty cover brakes??

No there's a special warranty that Infiniti does due to the fact that "due to the high performance of the car, the brakes go faster than usual" Theres a technical service bulletin about it. Its only good up to 36000 miles, and I'm not sure if 05's+ are eligible or not...I know on my 04 it was....

That happended to me exactly you said. I did replace the brake and rotor around 32,000 mile through infiniti.
Then, around 44,000 mile I needed the new brake and new rotor.>.<
I mean I didn't drive hard after the brake and rotor replaced at dealership.
This time I went to 'Midas' to fix to avoid such a high price.
I ask if it's the brake that I need to change, since I didn't squeel much (first time I heard it, I used brake so lightly so that doesn't squeel again).
But they said "have you ever replace the rotor before?" So I said "yeah, the dealership replace the brake and rotor at 32000mile"
and they said "It looks like they didn't replace the rotor at all. This can't be possible for only 10,000mile use. You need the new rotor for front ASAP, and the back rotor need resurfacing"

What the... I thought the dealership changed to new rotor and brake under warranty. This pissed me off. The whole thing came out around 700 dollars.
Man, dealership sucks.
I am not getting service from the dealership now on except oil-change.
I don't even have Brembo.
-.-;

The brakes on the 03 and 04 G's suck azzz as far as longevity wise. Nothing you can do except upgrade to different brakes, sell the car, or keep buying new brakes every 10k,

Nope. It applies to non-Brembo '04s as well. Mine were replaced under warranty.

You honestly expected new rotors? At most, if they were still safe, I would only expect them to turn the rotors and replace the pads.

This is so true this is why I went away with OEM parts. First time I took my car to the dealer for brake squeeling they replaced the rear pads and cleaned the front. 2 days later it was back so I took it the second time after about 2 months cus I just didn't have the time to bring back right away. All they did was cleaned it with brake cleaner and that was it. I talked to the service guy and all they said was there is nothing wrong and that a little brake squeel is normal on any car. I had the "Your kidding look on my face" so after that I said screw the damn warranty it's next to worthless. I replaced it with aftermarket rotors and pads and I haven't heard any squeeling from my brakes since.

It's a generic brand I got it from a business contact who makes the rotors at their shop. You can choose slotted, slotted/cross drilled or cross drilled. I got the slotted/drilled because it was a test for this car and it was dirt cheap. I have a 04 coupe 5AT so this answers your question. I replaced it before going on our Laguna Seca track day in January. It held up pretty well it was my brake fluid and pads that gave up. For everyday driving the setup I have is more than enough. And best of all it doesn't squeel at all. Here are a few pics of the rotors on the car just after the install.
