For Those who have installed Groundinggear

I purchased the 8 wire 6MT performance kit from Gordee and I have read the instructions a couple of times, but wanted to get some feedback before I do the install. Has anyone had any problems with the install and if so, what were they? It seems pretty straight forward, but sometimes knowing where the toughest tasks are ahead of time helps. I was a member of the Maxima Org and you could always get tips from people before you started on something, which I always found helpful. Any tips, feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I installed a grounding kit on my bro's is300, the hardest part was getting to some screws, otherwise if you have an installation guide with pictures, it should be fairly easy. be careful not to lose screws as i dropped some that were hard to get to.

Same here...I'm looking to pick up a set of wires too. I've read some of the info here and they say it does make the car a little smoother and better shifting in the manual mode for 5ATs. Some think it's great, some didn't notice a difference...hard to say.

Yeah, if it's one thing I've noticed is mods on the Max seemed to be more noticeable. I bet it's because this car is tuned to a higher degree from the factory.

There is a temptation to overtighten the bolts on re-assembly......don't put more than 15 lbs on them but rather use loctite on the threads to make sure they don't loosen.
Good luck and enjoy the benefits on good grounding.
C.

After install of the 8 wire 6mt kit from Gord, I can honestly say while I noticed no performance gains, idle was much smoother and when the car sits in neutral it is absoloutely quiet and smooth---I think it was well worth it

I'm lazy. I just let Lokey Infiniti install it for something like $100.

Ditto.
After reading pages and pages of heated discussion about grounding wires, I decided that I'll never know for sure until I try it myself.
I put the wires in my 6MT and didn't notice a thing.
No smoother idle, no better throttle response, nothing.
I took them off after 3 weeks.
I gotta believe it makes a bigger difference in the Automatic.

Same goes for me. I was going back and forth in my head. Shelled out the money just to try it out before I knocked it so I installed it not too long ago...

I wasn't surprised that it didn't do anything. At least not that I can notice. Nothing that others have claimed. It "looks cool" I guess like everyone mentioned but if it was just for looks, I wouldn't have bought it to begin with. It was more of a "had to see for myself" type purchase.

The car is pretty grounded to begin with... I uses a volt meter to check before the install, and nothing changed...
