Several Questions 04 g35/coupe
I test drove this car yesterday evening and I am going to call and make an offer. It is a creampuff! What should I offer the guy, I cant tell if it is in "good" or "excellent" shape. It is very clean with a few nicks in the paint on the hood from rocks ect, and it will need new tires within a few months. Which leads me to my next question, they are the Michilen Pilot Sport 245/45r18 96w (rear) 225/45r18 91w (front) can I get away with using another brand? possibley Nitto. They are very expensive I priced them on Discount tires website, but what do you guys and girls think about another tire that is cheaper? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, can you play DVD's in the player above the glovebox? How much will it cost to get the windows tinted? I know this is a lot of questions but yall are the experts so any help is appreciated. Hunter

Offer him $28,900 and then deal a bit up to $29.4k or so.
Use reasons like you stated for your "lowball" number, i.e. needs new tires, might need new paint on hood etc.
You can use any brand of tire you would like, as long as the size is correct. Tires are not something you want to cheap out on in my opinion, they are the only part of the car than keeps contact to the road, you do not want them to fail, your life might be at stake.
No DVD's can be played as far as I can tell.
Window tint is relatively inexpensive..a few undred bucks depending on a shop that you choose and the number of windows you want tinted.
If you are not a "car guy", take any used car in and get it inspected to be sure... Better to spend $100 on an inspection then thousands on repairs.
Good luck with the purchase. Let us know how it goes.

check the front tires and see if the outer edges are 'feathering'.
You can go with 245/40-18 for the fronts, it will help reduce understeer. Tire choice is up to you but I have heard some mixed reviews of Nittos. Saving $200 on tires now but having to replace them sooner is not really saving money in the long run.
i believe there is a device you can get to play DVD's. you should go to the FAQs or Electronics section of this forum and do a search.
