Interest rates and leasing
Interest rates and leasing
What's your interest rate for your G35 coupe? I'm trying to get an overall consensus of the interest rate I should be expecting to pay.
Also is leasing a good idea or not?

Re: Interest rates and leasing
Leasing is a bad idea for this car. My G35C is leased for 39 months (12,000 miles per year, $0 down) and I pay an enormous lease price of $630/month. On those terms, I could get a $45,000 Audi/BMW/Mercedes. The problem is, there is a projected residual value for this car at 50-51% after 3 years, whereas the average Audi/BMW/Mercedes is at 60-65%....meaning, you have to pay for more of the car in the 3 years that you lease it. Your best bet is to put a couple thousand down as down payment and finance it for 60 or 72 months, as I understand.
Re: Interest rates and leasing
I bought mine a week ago. Sticker was 38.6k, with TT&L came out to about 42k. I got 10K for my trade, and put 15K in cash down, at 4.5% rate for 60 months.. payment is about $290/mo.
Re: Interest rates and leasing
I got 3.4% but thats with excellent credit. I leased my plevious car a 2000 honda accord v6 coupe. Its a good choice if you want lower monthly payments and a new car every 3 years, BUT if you want to get rid of it early there might be issues. When I had about 8 months left on my honda I wanted to trade it in for the new accord v6 coupe, they said no way, if i did that i still would have had to pay the remaining 8 payments! Also you cant mod the car in any way, even tint might be a problem in some cases, unless if you want to buy the car at the end of the lease, in which case just buy it outright.
Re: Interest rates and leasing
I was able to qualify for Infiniti's 2.9% financing for 60 months. It really al depends on your credit score and debt to assets ratio

Re: Interest rates and leasing
My little plan is that at the end of my lease, I am thinking that the residual value will be higher than the 50% that is projected for this car after 3 years, and I will just sell it on my own (and buy it out) and walk away with a small but worth-while gain.

I thought my 4.69% was good, with $12,000 down, over 5 years, it comes to about $600 a month. Then again, I bought mine in March and I was only 22 at the time. Considering the car is under my name only, I'm happy with that percentage.
Re: Interest rates and leasing
4.95% over 59 months. Only $3K down, $660/month payments. Total car cost including tax and license was $38444.
I could have had an interest rate as low as 3.5% if I had put 40% down.
I agree that leasing is a bad idea, especially if you get an interest rate under 4%. Give it a year and you will make more in the stock market than you are paying in interest.

Re: Interest rates and leasing
I went to Frontier Infiniti to find out the projected worth of the car if it was 2 yrs old with 25k miles, they said it would be around 27000-28000, or about 75% of the value. I look on the forums and people selling their coupes and they seem to retain their value MUCH better than that. The G35C is so hot that I believe they'll retain their value into the future. People are with an '03Coupe w/ Nav, Sports Package, Premium with 11k miles have been trying to sell their cars for 35000. Not really sure if anyone bought it, but that's like only a 3000 dollar difference. In addition, the dealership said they sold their demo with a 2000 miles on it for only a few hundred off MSRP. Could be dealership bullshit but who knows?

Re: Interest rates and leasing
Between my Miata that went in as an In-and-Out deal and the deposit, I had about $15k in. I got 3.24% from my credit union for 60 month last week. The previous week, the parts manager at my Nissan dealership got 3.74% for 60 months on 100% finance of his Z convertible from the same credit union. When I qualified originally for the loan 4 months ago, I qualified at 3.99%. I heard the prime lending rate went up, but the bank rates went down while I waited for the coupe to get here. The bottom line is unless your credit is bad, it should be very low.

i got a fx35/awd/tech for 4.6% 39month, 15k/year for $660/month.
Leasing is a perfectly great way to go.
The best thing re: leasing is that you can write off 100% of your lease costs!
