Problem. please help!

Alright guys, so my window started messing up for about 3 weeks and finnally gave out. It would go up all the way and then come down 1/3. IT finnally got stuck in the upward position.

I assumed it would be the motor, so iwent ahead and bought a used 2005 350z motor. I tried putting it on yesterday but it just rolled down and would not roll back up. So i gently hit the switch with my palm and it would make a lcikcing noise. When i would push the swicth it wouldnt send any signals to the motor.

So what do you guys think it is, could it possibly be that the 2nd motor is bad or would it be the switch?

I dont think it could be the switch because then it would work from the driver side.

TIA
john

Spend some time and search around this forum. This has happened to others here.
I believe it isn't the motor. It is one of the control modules that goes bad.
Good luck!

Priming the pump.

Local service department says its the window motor limiter that needs to be reset or replaced. "Just bring it in and we'll change or reset it while you wait"

Oh, I've done my research, and thats the reason i changed the motor and the mechanism.

I tried reseting the old motor and it didnt work, so i bought a used one with the whole lifting mechanism, and it still doesnt work. would could it posibly be, the wiring? the switch? or is this motor bad also?

Do You have a jump box or a spare battery? If so unplug the swith put the power directly into the plug If your window goes up and down Its the switch thats the problem,If not then It has to be the motor.

Did you look at the 'window motor limiter' thinga-ma-gigger that was mentioned in the other post?

How about:

well the window limiter i assume comes with the mechanism, so im sure it should be ok.

I Didnt do exactly what was in the link, i tried reseting it without the door being closed. but, wouldnt it still at least go up and down when the door was open?

hmm i dont get it, what do you mean, what do i do with a spare battery?

ok like I said unplug the switch so you should have just the plug left in your hand,If you dont have a jump box you'll need a spare battery and some jumper leads hoock the jumpers to the spare battery you'll need something like acouple of 1/8th rivets or small tacks put one to each jumper and just touch the terminals on the plug (there might be more than just 2 terminals in the plug so your gonna have to touch em till you find whats up and down) sounds complecated but Its real easy) I do It at work all the time.

Hope this helps...............Later

ok so it was the motor.

but i ran into another problem, i had bought the regulator and motor from a 2005 350z. I guess the windows on 350z are smaller because now my window doesnt go all the way down. theres like 2 inches of the window left when its all the way down.

So i guess im gonna just take the motor off the 2005 Z, and hook it on to the G mechanism(regulator), hopefully that work.

So FYI, 2005 Z regulator will not work on the G.
