Could this be real?
Admittedly I don't know as much about our cars as most of you folks. I own a 2005 black on black coupe (prem package, 18" wheels, nav). I went on cars.com to see what my car would sell for (just curious) and I saw this - Infiniti Skyline 350 GT??? Seems like I'm missing something... Is this just a heavily modded G or is this for real?

This is a 2005 Skyline 350GT and has been completely re-badged (for insurance reasons)...
This car includes... the exclusive "Extroid" 8-Speed Transmission (capable in 2007).
EDIT: I stand corrected -- see below.

Did the Extroid CVT ever make it out of the XVL concept into any version of the Skyline 350GT or G35? I don't think so...[/QUOTE]

no offense to anyone here, but bashing someone without *actually* researching what you're saying first only makes you look like an @ss... if you read here:

you will see that the CVT "extroid" transmission does exist AND is an 8-speed...
if you read here:
"The latest advancement in CVT technology is Nissan’s “Extroid” transmission. Instead of using a belt or a chain, the Extroid transmission uses a pair of rotating rollers between an input disc and an output disc. A special oil is used to provide both lubrication and friction between the rollers and discs. Varying the angle of the rollers changes the gear ratio of the transmission. Currently being used on the Nissan Cedric/Gloria and Skyline 350GT-8 in Japan, this design reportedly can handle higher torque loads (up to 286 ft.-lbs.) and comes with a manual mode that simulates a manual 6-speed transmission."
you will see that the Skyline 350GT-8 comes with said transmission...
now maybe you should all email this poor fella and apologize for your douche-bag comments?
