Sorry to hear but I don't think they will total your car. The damage looks fixable but just be glad your guys are ok.

Talking

Thanks to everyone here for their advice and support, it IS greatly appreciated. I am glad no one got hurt, it could've been SO much worse. I look at the glass half full. And after I deal with Insurance.. the wallet half empty!!

Sorry to hear....man you Cali guys are always hurtin' on the highways. Yeah, it's very unlikely that your insurance co will total your car out. Its just too valuable for them to take a hit on it.

GET A REPORT FROM CHP. I cannot stress this enough because it saved my *** when I totalled my 240sx avoding a deer. It sounds like you hit the object and didn't spin out or anything and hit a stationary object which would have made it your fault. There was debris in the road so it's not you fault. Get the report and fight your insurance if you draw a diagram that will help too.

The most important thing is that you and your passengers are ok.

I honestly dont think its totaled [from the pics you posted]. But its definately alot of damage.

If it is totaled, then I would just get that 1 year lease Infiniti is offering and wait to see how the 08 G35 coupe might be. I really have great anticipation for this car; I think its gonna be great. Im my opinion it wouldnt be wise to buy another G or an M3 because the new models are due next years for both the 3-series line-up and the G line-up.

Hope I helped

Sorry to hear about the car but I have to ask why you didn't slow down if people where waving you off on the shoulder? If you had slowed down at least to 40 or so the damage would have been much less.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the insurance co. will call it totalled.

To give you some hopes up, here is my totalled G35.
9 months old, impact speed 40,
I brought it to the most expensive bodyshop in town, they estimated it well over 18,000 in repairs
