My head light bulb went out, will they replace it for free? Or is it considered a wear and tear item?

here in Canada it's 12 month/20000km warranty if I remember correctly

 

Mine was replaced free of charge. Was told they have a "lifetime" warranty.

 

I thought it would be a wear and tear item but someone I know got it replaced at a warrenty item. No harm in askin the dealership.

How can you say the dealer will replace for free when you dont even know if is car is still under warranty?

Xenon/hid cost a fortune to replace, how could it be under "lifetime" waranty???

 

Have never asked but I would be amazed if they said the bulbs have a lifetime warranty. Most HID bulbs have between a 2,000 and 3,000 hour lifetime. I drive with mine on all the time and spend an average of 2 hours a day in the car. That only gives me ~3-4 years of bulb life.

 

I have xeon's on my 03 6mt coupe, about a year ago I took it to
Willow Grove Infiniti, in Willow Grove Pa, they replaced the bulb free of charge, & told me the manufacturer has a lifetime warranty on them.(The headlight manufacturer, not Infiniti).
They also told me it was about a $300.00 replacement. I tried to find that in writing, but I can't find it in the owner's manual. But I still wasn't charged.

 

Mine will within about 12 months of you getting the ride.

yes its 12 month warranty.. but the dealer i use to work at just did it as long as it was the new body style lol its just small stuff that some dealers will even give away for your service especially if you get ur car serviced there

 

they will replace it free of charge as long as your vehicle is still under factory warranty. Not the extended.

 

I guess if you ever do need another one there are always people who have changed their bulbs and would sell you their stock ones. (I am one of them)
