If you're able to open and take apart the circuity board, get a blowdryer and run it through on low setting until everything is dry. Put everything back together and try it. God knows how many I've had to fix alarm remotes for people.
As with all electronics that were soaked in water, make sure it's completely dry inside (where the circuitry is) before you try to use it or you can short something out. And change the battery too.

You might want to take it apart and dry it out properly and replace the battery b4 replacing it.
I've heard of others 'laundering' theirs, and they still worked after cleaning and drying.
