Intelligent Key in the wash

I freaking washed my Intelligent Key in the wash machine!! Sucks, I dried it in the sun, but it still doesn’t work. Do you think I can get a new one under warranty?
What should I do???

Yeah easy... just call the dealership and tell em it stopped working.. something as small and cheap (to them) they will just replace and don't care about what happened to it as long as it's not obvious.

are you able to open it?? JUST to make sure there's no signs of water in there, so they dont come back and say you accidently had it in the washer lol

+1 A lot of time with these small electronical parts, when water gets introduced into the system, it fails to operate (of course). If you're able to open and take apart the circuity board, get a blowdryer and run it through on low setting until everything is dry. Put everything back together and try it. God knows how many I've had to fix alarm remotes for people.

Also, like someone has already mentioned - you may want to check out the battery and replace it if need be. Certain batteries can be destroyed with water contact.

As with all electronics that were soaked in water, make sure it's completely dry inside (where the circuitry is) before you try to use it or you can short something out. And change the battery too.

Yeah, they are not cheap....
You might want to take it apart and dry it out properly and replace the battery b4 replacing it.

I've heard of others 'laundering' theirs, and they still worked after cleaning and drying.
