Got my tint done today, very happy :)

35% on front sides, 20% on back sides, 20% on rear. Only cost me $126 too, and place has been in business for 20 years.

Next up: Z-tube + Stillen CAI, followed by 5/16" spacer and MREV2.

Not sure what type of tint, but has an 8 year warranty and I've used the place before and the film still looked great after 2 years.

I do know it's not the metallic type.

Oh and the guy told me cops can't check the % on the back side windows because they have to roll the windows down to use their light gun to check the %. True or false?

Ya...the guys at the tint shop were drooling over my car and giving me compliments left and right haha

Only seen about 5 other g35s here in Buffalo ever, it's a rare breed up here!

How'd the shop do on the matrix running across the top of rear window and all along the rear two? I went with 22% all around and since my ryde's black exterior & interior, it appears much darker than it really is.

ya ive got the stone interior

They did a pretty good job on the dot matrix, some water in there still but they said just give it a few days and most of it should fix itself

good enough job to make me happy, and i'm a pretty picky guy

anyone know about the cop light gun thing being true or not?

The air bubbles located in the matrix will not fix itself after it dries because the adhesive isn't sticking to the window. After a day or so, while it's still wet, use the edge of a credit card and do a sqeegee effect, pushing the air out and making the tint stick to the window. There will be some areas when the air is trapped. Simply use a needle, stab a hole in there and push the air out. The bubbles along the main part of the window will fix itself after drying.

Thumbs up

what the tint place did for my matrix at the top of the window was put a strip of black vinyl, looks perfect. the vinyl will fill in on the gaps. you can't even see the matrix dots anymore.

Interesting, you got the fronts darker, im assuming so u can see out your rear window easier.

Typically when I get mine or would want to, i'd get equal all around or darker in back because its legal tint in back usually, but not so much in front. Im going with 20 percent all around. I got a guy who does $100 for 2dr or 4dr cars, you leave it there for like 1/2 to the whole day and he gets it done by the end of the day.

Unless I read it wrong, he got the fronts lighter, and the backs darker, like most people do when they get different percentages

Ya I got the front lighter than the back.

1/2 to the whole day? Damn man, I watched them do mine, only took them about 40 minutes.
