What does clay bar looks like, sorry for the noob question but I serached but i didn't have any luck with the picture.

 

It looks like a bar of soap, but feels like soft rubbery clay. I have Mothers brand and it is yellow.

In a nutshell, it's like a very very mild sticky sand paper all-in-one. What I mean is, it won't really take off a clear coat but will lift off what ever particles that are imbedded in the clear coat and make it stick to the clay bar. So, for the paint splat, it will make the splat stick to the clay bar (or whatever is imbedded in the clear coat) by you rubbing it back and forth over the it. There are plenty of details of how to remove certain particles, stains, etc. in the Detail forum. As for the Mother's brand, you can get that at any Pep Boys. Get it on sale. It costs something like $10 bucks on sale and you usually only use a small portion at a time and save the rest. I've used it many times when I rub my hand over the paint after a good wash and it feels rough. After wards, it's all smooth. Hope that helps.
