Green Paint on my car?

Hey guys,

The other day I was washing my car and noticed that I had green paint on my black car. I don't know what happened but it looked like I drove over some green paint that was on the ground?!?!?! Now I have a few lines of green paint by the splash guards and green paint dots on my back bumper. How can I get rid of this? Wet sand? Polish? Wax? I have no idea, any input would help. Thank you.

You may be able to just wash it off. If that fails try some compound, but be very careful because you can easily make it worse if you aren't careful. Wet sanding would be my last option. Actually it may be best to simply take it to a good Detailer, if it doesn't wash off. Most of them will charge you less than a $100, and when they are done you'll have a beautiful car.

definitely use a clay bar. That is the safest way to start. That may take some time but will work.

+1 If you have a good coat of wax, it should come off. If that doesn't work, try a little Lacquer thinner. Try it in a spot that won't show first. I have used it many times on road stripe paint and tar on other cars, not the G yet. It worked quite well. You will have to re-wax when done.

I wouldnt use Lacquer unless A. you know what youre doing or B. You have exhausted all other options. The clay bar should do its job.

About a month ago something like this happened to me. I dont know where it came from but i had green paint splashed all over one side of my car. (Black G). I used rubbin alcohol to gently get it out. I did this the same day it happened so perhaps the paint was still a little fresh. After that i just went and got the car wax and the car looks like new. Try it, it might work for you. my 2 cents.

Or if it's a tiny spot, you could just leave it!

Thanks guys for all the inputs. I tried to use the clay bar but it doesn't come off. I will probably just take it to a detailer and see what he can do. Thanks again.

or a good body shop that also has also a detailer. They would know exactly what to do.

I've encountered similar problem with purple. Nail polish remover (acetone) worked great and didn't have ANY probs.

I've used Liquid Wrench Silicone spray(light blue can). Spray on, count to 5, wipe off. I used to use it on my pearl white 3000GT for the past 4 years. Weird, but it works great.
