Help, trouble opening hood

Help, trouble opening hood
I am having trouble opening my hood. When I pull the hood release, I don't hear or see any movement in the hood, I have done it several times and each time I check to see if the hood has moved at all, there is nothing. I have called the dealer who of course wants me to bring it by. I was hoping someone else had this problem and found a solution. I don't feel like going that far if it something I can resolve easily. I don't feel the usual tightness in the cable that should be there. The service manager suggested using a pair of pliers to pull the cable once I locate it. He thinks the cable may have snapped. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help, trouble opening hood
Have you had any work done to your car such as an alarm install or anything that would have meant taking off the lower cover for the steering column? Your linkage for the hood may not have been reinstalled or maybe has come loose where it attaches to that cover.

Re: Help, trouble opening hood
This same exact thing happened to me. I took it in for an oil change and the brake recall thing a while ago and turns out they just forgot to reconnect the hood cable...i have no idea why they disconnected it to begin with, but it took them 10 minutes to fix it. Dont worry. Just take it in and they will fix it. Nothing serious to worry about. Good luck!
