if ure hitting the rev limit then why not shift at 6300 so with the delay auto it will land right around redline.

Yeah the 03 seemed to have more torque down low, and there was this really cool power surge once you hit 5K rpm. The 06 has a more linear powerband, and seems to run smoother at high revs. Gear ratios were adjusted for the new higher redline so that 1st still goes to 35mph, 2nd goes to 60mph, 3rd to 85, etc. It works out nicely because the engine is spinning just a tad higher when cruising around to make up for the lost torque.
