redline at 7500

What all would i need to do to the engine to allow it to redline at 7500 RPMs? I believe i know what would need to be done, but not sure...

Forge pistons and rods maybe new crank? prolly a bigger oil pan to allow atleast another quart of oil....

any ideas?

Why do you want it to redline at 7500? This isn't a honda buddy, if thats where you're coming from, these motors make optimal power early on and don't need to rev that high, unless you're AUTO with FI, then sometimes it is needed. If you really feel the need to bump up the rev limiter, send your ecu to http://www.technosquareinc.com/

they can move it to 7100 i beleive.

i got my max HP at 6600RPM so there is no need to rev it more than that, and max TQ at 4.5kRPM

Well here is what it is, the 5AT rev limiter is at 6700 rpm and the 6MT rev limiter is set at 7200...so if max HP is achieved at 6600 rpm why do they let it redline at 7200?
The main reason though im looking to get the rev limiter up so high is because i always hit the rev limiter at 6700 rpm even if i shift it at 6600 (from the auto delay) and it slows my 1/4 mile down. I want it raised higher so i dont ever have to worry about hitting it i dont plan on actually taking it to 7500 just want it so i dont hit the rev limiter

hope that made some sence haha

i have an auto and my rev limiter is a 6800 and dont have a problem getting it to shift before hitting it. it could be that i drive in manual mode all the time and drive it hard as ****, that my ecu has learned over time. at the drag you should be fine. you should go across the line in 3rd right bfore you hit the rev limiter. you shouldnt need to shift into fourth.

the rev limitier is set at the same spot on al the cars whether is at or mt, maybe you rode in one that had more of a tach delay or they already have the ts reflash done.

The "rev-up" engines have a higher rev-limiter than the "non rev-ups." Hence the reason for someone coining the term "rev-up" engine.

As I understand it, these engines sacrifice some low-end torque but gain hp on the top end at higher revs.

Someone with a "rev-up" can probably go into more detail and explain the differences better than I can.

to get ur car to 7.5k.. easy.. you need to upgrade ur valve springs and shims so theres no valve float..

then you have to remove the rev limiter with a reflash or a standalone ecu

but to get power out of it you'll need different intake and exhaust cams with the right lift and duration for that RPM Range (6,000rpm-7,500)

Our stock rods will probably be safe (if you have the rev up motor) other then that.. if ur using a non-rev up motor i wouldnt bother..

^^non-revup less hp, more torque-lower redline. rev-up--more hp, less torque , higher redline, upgraded ecu, cams, and some other engine stuff

^ yes because you can hold the shift longer and IMo it shifts a little harder (Faster)

Difference between "revup" motors and non-revup motors:
The revup motors have stronger rods and a different cams. It also has variable valve timing on the exhaust cam as well as the intake. It also has a different intake manifold and ECU. The intake manifold is what makes the power difference..

Because the car revs up higher it can utilize larger runners allowing it to achieve higher horse power.. but because of the bigger runners air velocity is lost at low rpm causing the motor to loose low end torque. in return the motor has a very smooth and steady power band.. if anyone of u have dyno ur car you'll notice a nice straight line..
