Has anyone else had this prob?

I have an 06 IP coupe, and lately everytime I turn on my car and turn the A/C on this humidity smell comes out for a bit. Anyone know how to fix this or if it can be done

i have this issue sometimes also. i think there's an anti mold spray that you can spray into the vents to get rid of the smell, but i'm hoping someone else can chip in with more info

You can try changing the in cabin air filter with that charcoal one. I have the same thing with my car, i just ignore it.

make sure to turn the ac off for a minute or 2 berfore you shut off the car to avoid excess condesnation which can cause mold smells when you later turn on the car

i've had this problem and switching filters didn't really help. What i've noticed will greatly reduce to even prevent the problem is to always turn your AC off before you shut off your car. Whenever I leave me AC on and I turn the car on with the AC on, the smell is there, but when I turn it off and the AC is off when I turn the car on, I can't smell it. Try it! I really does work.

If you have your a/c set on recirc all the time, you need to set it to outside circ a few minutes before you get to your destination. In recirc, you have humidity build up in your system and putting it on outside circ helps remove humidity and helps drying up your system before you park your car.

i was told that the ac creates moisture build up that leads to the accumulation of bacteria in the ducts.... that's where the smell comes into play... just spray some lysol or another antibacterial spray into the vents .... that will kill the bacteria and eliminate the smell....worked for me anyhow.

either change out the filter, or dont leave your smelly shoes in the car

at my work they have this thing called a HVAC AC Cleaner... its pretty much a fog machine which you turn on inside the car... and run the AC fans... and it doesnt smell bad nor good.. its kinda weird... you should ask around some shops to see if they have the machine
