Coupe rear quarter window issue.

I have been getting the run around with Infiniti about the passenger side rear quater window molding. Mine (and every G35 in the lot) has warped molding. The dealership ordered a new one and it came in worse than the one on my car. The second one ordered was just as bad.....

Is everyones rear window molding warped??? Has anyone complained about this and if so what was the outcome?

This window.....this is not my car though

Have you complained???

Most of the problems I saw in the lot were on the P-side...I did see a few driver side problems though.

I haven't complained yet. My dealer is about 30 miles north of here so I can't just swing by, but it does bother me and definately shouldn't be there.

That is a random picture from the net to depict what window and molding I am talking about, it is not showing any damage. Look at your molding and see if it is disfigured and then report back.

Thanks

That is EXACTLY what 90% of the NEW Coupes on the lot looked like. This is a manufacturing error...the service manager said it was normal because all of the replacement parts were defective too. I currently have an open complaint to Infiniti Customer Service.

Mine has it as well, but very slight. If fact, I would not have known about it until I read this thread. It can only be seen in bright sunlight and looking down the sight lines of the molding. Didn't bother me before, not going to bother me now, especially since it seems to be a very common issue. I think you're probably facing an uphill battle by taking this to Infiniti. I wouldn't want the dealer to replace it anyway since they may scratch it, not put it on correctly, etc.

The Infiniti dealer was farming the job to a glass installer......since the pieces were defective I opted not to change a bad piece with another bad piece.

The issue has been turned over to Infiniti Engineers since the Service manager said all cars in the lot had the same issues.

Just becasue all the cars have this issue does not mean there isn't a problem.....it is definitely a manufacuring processing error that was not caught in QA.

I wonder if there is a correlation between model year and whether or not the trim is defective.

Perhaps. I've got an '05 with 3200 miles on it and my trim is laying very flat. It does sit in the sun all day while I'm at work.

To be 100% clear, are we talking about the bottom portion of the rubber gasket/seal around the small windows? I will look at mine as soon as I leave work.
