I think the rumor is that the 08 coupe will debut with more hp than the new sedans. It was like this when the first came out and BMW made it so with the release of their 335 coupe over their 330 sedan. The G37 name has been trademarked so I'm expecting a reasonable power increase over the sedan.

I think that there is a good chance that the '07 sedan will have the new redesigned VQ engine with 306 hp, but that the '08 coupe will get the new VQ-HR engine that is going into the '07 Z, which will make more hp than the regular VQ. It would make since to put the HR engine into both the Z and G-Coupe.

If the current 06G35 Sedan (auto) has 280 hp, then that means they added an additional 26 hp.

Infiniti still hasnt released its full specs.

Now imagine this (in my mind), add 26 hp to the current 6MT g35 coupe, and lets say they use better (thus lighter) materials:

08 G35 6MT Coupe : 324 HP, 3300 lb = Not bad at all.

All these numbers seem worthless on the pavement... I only have a CAI and a plenum spacer and can smoke the hell out of my buddies 06 with CAI... I hope his plenum spacer gets him ahead of me, if not, im dissapointed in the loss of torque because thats the only real advantage I should have over the "rev-up"... And yes, he can shift the car well and I've driven it also as well as another friends 05 and my cousin's 06...

all cars 6MT, mine is an 04.5 and pulls much harder

is500 is in different class. is350 already mid-forty. that means is500 would be around 60k .... just different target buyers .

It depends we got a great deal on an 04 Odyssesy right about the time that they were bringing the new 05 model onto the dealer's lots. If you really like the current coupe that would be the time when you'll get your best deal.

306 does seem kinda dissappointing, i realize that there is more to a car than HP, but its all about bragging rights and it seems like HP is the measurement most people use to compare cars. Infiniti should atleast put a few more horses in it to be a class leader in HP, torque and 0-60mph since they are releasing the car after the IS350 and the bmw 335. Although those cars are far more expensive, i think it would make the G stand out even more and make it a much better value in the eyes of most comsumers.

I think 310 - 315 is a good goal. with 300 lb/ft of torque.

1 GTR is only offered to each Nissan dealer and thats if they qualify. Our sales manager is buying the one we are getting to only drive it for a year and jack up the price when he trys to sell it. BIG MISTAKE. I see another S2000 incident happening.

S2000 was only supposed to come out for one year- two years. Honda was smart. People paid 10,000 over sticker on some in 2000 because they wanted that anniversary special edition car and they were very disappointed and pissed off when HONDA "decided" to make more and still making them.
