where to put cell phone in cp?

OK, maybe this will sound bad, but I was wondering what people are doing with their cell phones in the car. Keeping it in the console is really inconvinient, so I was curious if people came up with different ideas?
Thank you

Re: where to put cell phone in cp?

I've been wondering about this as well. The cubby under the outlet works perfect, but if you are blastin the tunes you can't hear it ring. I want to be able to see the screen light up when it rings. I don't want to put any screws into the consoles so I think that double sided tape is the only solution but sometimes it doesn't stick very well.

I either keep it in the cubby under the cigarette lighter or in the slide cover cubby area on the 6MT. I rarely pick up the phone when driving anyway unless I'm on the highway. Shifting in city traffic gets kind of complicated when talking on a phone.

I use this magnetic thing that you plug into the cig outlet and its like a clip but magnetic kinda nice adn it has multiple positions. Got it at target I think or walmart. Hope this helps, other than that I just keep it on my belt clip and leave it on vibrate. Found this to be the easiest.

I just want to be able to see when someone is trying to get a hold of me on my cell. I think I am going to try some doublesided tape on the holder bracket and see if that works.

I have the Nextel i95 cl and I use the clip thaqt came with it and clip it to the sunroof right behind the controls on the roof. I know it's a wierd spot but I found that it fit one day and left it there ever since. Works for me.

I use a Motorola T720 - which fits nicely into the center ashtray, if layed on it's side and with the antenna facing up. Perfect fit!

Re: where to put cell phone in cp?

In my other vehicles I've always used the belt clip and clipped it to the sun visor over my head. Almost always noticed when it lit up or at least could here it beep if I missed a call. Can be a problem if the visor is really thick though. DIdn't think to check that on the G. Guess I'll find out when I pick it up on Thursday.

The passenger seat works fine for me - if I don't hear it or see it ring, so what? I can always call them back later - I'm busy driving!

My pocket... on vibrate

Either that, or I just open the cup holder and throw it in there with the screen facing up.

Re: where to put cell phone in cp?

I've used Jabra ear-buds forever... I was going to switch over to a wireless one because hey, it's cool, but for now it works. If the phone rings, I just throw it in my ear and press a button. They're slowing switching state laws over to make hand-held cell use illegal. I've never had a problem with talking on the cell and driving-- I just make sure the person I'm talking to knows I'm in a car, and driving is my first priority, so if I seem to zone out or hang up, I'll get back to them.
