Accident - Need Advice

I am convinced a taxi driver on a Monday will kill me in my future.

A CT taxi driver got into an accident with me less then 2 hours ago in Long Island NY. It took a great deal of self control to not want to hurt this guy severely. Long story short..... I was in a right only lane he was in the middle adjacent lane, which is straight only. He decides that he needs to make a right turn without bothering to look to the right. His front right clips my rear left wheel well outer rim. Result see below......

He actually pulled up next to me and look at me with a luck of surprise like did I do that. I looked at him I told him "you better ****ing pull over in front me and stay there." Got out call the cops filled out a form within 10 minutes. Called my insurance.

How bad is it? How should I approach it? Its hard to tell, but there is a lot of small denting along the rim edge. The wheel is mostly scuffs with 3 major spots of scrapping.

Thank you ahead for any help.

They might be able to save that panel, but im not sure. Try and get that rim replaced rather than repaired(it will look better), Good luck with whatever you do.
P.S.-where on LI are you i see alot of black coupes driving around.

One way or another those f**ks are going to pay for it. I am going to push for a new rear quarter panel and wheel. I live near Queens/Nassau border.

I hope that taxi driver gets run over by another taxi driver. They are all scum bag f**ks. None of them pay attention.

Dude, that's gonna cost at least $1500 to repair...hope you got good insurance(collision). Anyways to fix a fender like that a good body shop will have to remove your rear windshield and then remove your body panel to take it out and make sure the whole panel is painted and straightened/replaced. Don't take it to a cheapo body shop that will bondo that part of the car. Not even god can match those lines on the fender to showroom/new condition. You most likely should get the fender replaced. Also while you're at it, get your insurance to pay for a new rim too. In the long run you'll be greatful you replaced it.
Good luck man

I am out in Suffolk County.. I took a rim that had some curb rash on it into http://fixrim.com/ in farmingdale.. had it in Wednesday.. back on car Thurs.. they did an awesome job! 160 total.. had it been bent, cracked, etc.. they fix it for the same price... Sorry about your accident by the way... taxi cab drivers suck!

The best way to do it is to get your insurance company to pay for it and get your company to go after the Taxi company's insurance. Then you can go to a high end body shop and get your baby taken care of perfectly.
Hope everything goes great for you.

I got hit similarly to that. Make sure your check your wheel studs, I found out 3 months later that one of my wheels studs were bent, which they overlooked in their appraisal.

His insurance will have to pay for it. just call your insurance and tell them the story just in case he call them and told them it was your fault.

The taxi drivers insurance was a sub-standard one that finally got acceptable. So I am not going directly to them first because they will push the bondo onto me. I have already placed a claim with my insurance. Went to my original Infiniti dealership who provided me with a recommendation. I will have the insurance appraiser meet me there. Otherwise, if I go to there "recommendation" they will low-ball me. I want brand new parts.

Then my insurance will put the case into segregation and force the other company to pay out. Otherwise, it will go through arbritration. If all goes well the police report will give all the info that was discussed openly at the accident. Besides the point of impact was more then evident. Any decent insurance can clearly see what had happened.

Thanks for the input guys. I went from red hot boiling mad.... to mad. Tonight I am taking it in to my friend's shop so that I can lift it up and see if there is any structural or suspension damage.
