it all started i think a month ago when it would make this weird sound like something was loose when i changed from 1st to 2nd. now i am having problems shifting to 3rd. sometimes i cant even shift it back to 2nd or even 4th when i wanna shift from 2nd gear. i have to basically let go of the clutch and try again. Ans yes i have the clutch all the way in too when this happens. UGH!!!! this happens almost everyday now.

i was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem. i have 6800mi on my coupe and paln to do my 7500 serive in 2 weeks.

ih ave this weird problem with 3rd gear.. sometimes it just doesnt want to go in.. especially if im driving really hard. ttakes me a good 3 or 4 attempts to get it in gear. i only have 1400 miles on my coupe

Search the forum...there have been several postings on this similar issue... Take it to your dealer... others that have reported this problem to their dealer get a new tranny... did you beat on the car during break in... from what I have read that seems to be one trend that leads towards this problem also relating to when your car was manufactered.... let us know how you make out.

 

i have the same problem...my car has been at the dealer for the last 2.5 weeks. They are talking to Infiniti about putting a new tranny in my car now.

 

Since the launch of the G35 6-speed and 350z, There has been 3 revisions of the tranny. My car was the 2nd production 6-speed which had the 1st version of the manual tranny. I experienced grinding problems at around 5000 miles. Took it to the dealer and had my tranny replaced. Right now, my car has the 2nd version tranny, however just in the first week of October, Nissan is producing all new 350zs and g35's with the 3rd revision of the manual tranny. But, I haven't had any problems with my new tranny for 10k miles. I also changed to Redline synthetic tranny fluid for better sychro protection and smoother shifts.
