Faulty Tire Pressure Monitor

About a few weeks ago I took delivery of a brand new '04 TB/5AT coupe and had my tire pressure monitor go off twice in a period of a week.

The first time It went off and I brought it to Bommarito. They tech told me the car's chip was reporting a FLAT rear right tire. This was simply not the case as the tires were all at perfect pressures (he measured to confirm.) He reset the chip and told me to give him a call if the warning went off again.

Sure enough a few days later, not even driving above 20mph (required speed to even trick the sensor), the alarm goes off.

Needless to say I will be bringing in the car tomorrow for service and will report any findings. I doubt this is a huge issue, probably just a faulty sensor or bad circuit.

Re: Faulty Tire Pressure Monitor

On another note, i live in an apartment building and do not really have the means to sit down and zaino my car (as much as I want to) anyone here from the STL area have any recommendations for car washes? (I'll be asking the guys at Bommarito tomorrow as well)

I have an '03.5. My "tire pressure monitor" sits in the glove box.

Hopefully they'll get it fixed quick for you.

Welp, brought it in, they couldn't pinpoint the problem so they want to really look at the tire pressure monitor system in more detail. I will be bringing it in again :P

Re: Faulty Tire Pressure Monitor

Had the exact same problem on my TB 5AT. They had to replace the BCM (Body Control Module). I never heard an alarm just the light was blinking.
