loud clanking from 6spd. tranny

When I go from reverse to first gear, there is a loud clanking noise coming from my tranny. Does anyone else experience this? Is this just something our trannies do or do you think something is wrong. Every gear engages fine, it just clanks from reverse to first.

EDIT: It also does it going from first to reverse...

Must be something wrong with your tranny. My tranny only clanks when the gas and clutch are not equalized, followed by the jittery of the whole car. This doesnt happen anymore tho, it only happened when I was first learning on the car..

can you replicate the sound everytime?

if so, just take it in to the dealership and show the service reps there.
