question about battery in g35 coupe...

my car doesn't get driven around much, it mostly sits at home and isnt my daily driver. But i recently started my car up and noticed that it doesnt start up nice and instantaneously as before. Does this mean i needd to replace the battery on my car?

If so, what kind of battery do you recommend replacing it with? I run an aftermarket audio system in my car also, so this new battery should be able to handle all the extra power...

My car jerks on my 5AT everytime it shifts and the bass is hitting hard, I have my amp gains properly set and all. So I'm not sure the problem is because of my battery is getting weak, or my system is too strong for the car's electrical system to keep up with?

its just a jl 300/4, jl 500/1 10w7, and thats it... all properly wired and everything, running 2guage wire as my main power from my batteery to a distribution block, then two 4guage wires into my amp...

was wondering what you guys think I should do... battery getting weak, or just system cant keep up?

Start your car up and let it run for about 15 or 20 minutes with the sound system and all components turned completely off. Then leave the car off for a day or 2, and then try to start it up. If it starts up fine and doesn't seem to labor at all with providing enough power to spin your starter, you can probably assume that it's your sound system which is sucking out too much power for your alernator to keep up with.

If the car is still starting slow, then your battery may be on its way out. You'll probably want to replace it with an Optima battery since they are lightweight, last a long time and can be mounted in different directions if need be.

Search "optima" and it will get all the info you need. I'd seriously think about running a med sized Yellow top for your application

so if it is my battery, then i should consider getting an optima yellow top battery to replace my factory one with? how much do these run for? can i buy them locally or do they have to be specially ordered online? I just went to their website, and did a battery search for my car, and they showed no battery compatible with my car? hrmm...

Also how difficult is it to replace a battery?

my battery died after not driving for like 4 days.. i ahve upgraded audio too so i got the yellowtop battery.. havent had a problem since.

Btw, how do you adjust the gain on the amps? I'm a bit of an audio noob :P PM me and we'll talk! I got my battery for about 100 i think. I went with the more powerful load though, but its a little heavier. It comes with a spacer too fits right into the stock place without modifications.

If you dont have any audio upgrades go with a odyssey dry cell battery they will save you about 20 pounds since they are dry cell. It will reduce weight and still work as good as the factory battery if not better. 10 year warranty as well. Most importantly its weight off the front of your car
